Beautiful hotel, with some exceptions.

Posted 09-Apr-2014
Pros: The architecture and its location.
Cons: Lighiting, internet and soundproofing.
Location: Excellent location for the area.
This is an extraordinary property for the beauty of the building and the location of the hotel. The exceptions are the poor soundproofing in the rooms. The noise and music from outside would often keep us up all hours. The internet was excellent if you sat in the lobby or the common areas. The lighting in the hotel needs an updating. The bathrooms and rooms had very dark spaces despite the meager lighting. With some refurbishing this hotel could be a knockout.

Majestically Beautiful

Pros: Each of the 2 suites we stayed in were luxurious, unique and very comfortable. The tub was delicious.
Cons: The food and margarita was not great.
Location: Lot's are shopping, beautiful churches, museums and buildings. Good food and the plazas are filled with people, performers and music.
This hotel is more beautiful than the photographs depict. It is in the center of the historical district which is bustling and lively. Everything is just steps away.

Great place to stay, good to walk five minutes to center of town, one way system and parking needs to be planned up front.

Great for first timers, step into the action. Breakfast very good with voucher in next door resturant. Rooms slightly dim, but well thought out and really nicely designed and themed. Staff great and bilingual. Would recommend it for a couple ex specially.

More than Expected!

The La Casa de la Marquesa was an educational as well as visual experience that I will never forget. The hotel has such magnificent architecture and history as well as comfort. We stayed 6 nights on the 3rd floor, quite a few stairs but the comfort and beauty of the room made up for the hike up the stairs. The staff was friendly and most spoke English which was a definite plus for us because our Spanish leaves something to be desired. I can't say enough about the dining experience! The food was amazing and eye appealing. We had breakfast and dinner there and were never disappointed with the service or meals. There are 2 squares within walking distance of the hotel for evening strolls and shopping. Restaurants were also plentiful. I would visit La Casa de la Maquesa again when I return to Queretero, Mexico.

Very nice historical hotel.

Pros: It was beautiful. It was very quiet.
Cons: Better lighting.
Location: Everything was within walking distance.
The room was very nice (La Pinta), although I don't think it was the Royal Suite / European Plan room type I paid for. The staff was very helpful & pleasant. The location was excellent.
