“Incredible view from cozy comfort”
The long-awaited snow arrived while we were in Queenstown, but we were toasty warm in the Mercure and had an unbelievably beautiful view of the lake--be sure to ask for a lakeview room! We had the best sleeps of our entire month-long trip at the Mercure (great king-size bed). The Mercure could be even better--the outside hot tub should be a lot hotter and the beautiful swimming pool should be heated. The restaurant seemed overwhelmed (food was good and reasonably priced, but the service was slow). But the sauna was great, and the staff friendly and helpful.
“Well impressed”
Superb room view over the lake. Would recommend the restaurant particularly the set meals which are excellent value for money. Convenient regular shuttle service into town although there is a cost. Very nice hotel at a reasonable price.
“Good price”
Concierge was very helpful. Good deal during a busy time of the year (ski season).
“What a View!”
This was a clean and pleasant hotel in good condition. The staff were pleasanr and helpful. The lake view was spectacular. It was great to have access to washers and driers to get my clothes clean. The only draw back to this hotel might be the hike up the hill from downtown. There is a bus service. I opted to consider it a chance for a little cardio vascular activity. Over all I enjoyed my stay and would head back again anyday.
“Julie”
A really very old hotel, don't saty here unless you have a car, it need to walk a long time to the queestown shopping mall, but the steak of hotel restaurant is very delicious.
“Great hotel”
Great Hotel! Great Views... the only thing that I did not liked was the internet price, too expensive.
“Not impressed - old and worn out furniture”
Furniture and furnishing are old and tired. Lake view rooms are on the lower level, would prefer some other hotels in Queenstown. Not impressed by the quality of Mercure.
“One of the better values in Queenstown”
We stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions during vacation in Queenstown. The first time was in their cheapest room (pool view). The hotel is clean, breakfast is reasonably good and it was one of the least expensive hotels in Queenstown. On the negative side, it is about 2km from town and up a big hill. During our second stay a few days later, we requested the cheapest rooms again (a bit higher than the price on Expedia) and received a free upgrade to a mountain view room where we stayed for 3 nights. Great view and big room with two queen beds. I'd recommend staying here if you want the privacy of a hotel room on a restricted budget.
“Wonderful place”
I would definetly recommend this hotel. Wonderful place, great service! We were very satisfied.
“Beautiful Setting”
Very nice accomodations, good food in restaurant, inadequate parking.
