“Wonderful!”

The hotel was clean, friendly, decorated beautifiully, and in a great location. We enjoyed the fireplace, walls of brick and stone, and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Area recommendations
We loved both the lower and upper sections of Vieux Quebec City.

“We got lucky”

Picked this hotel purely bcause Expedia offered it at a fairly good price and it had a few stars. In fact the hotel is fantastic and location ideal. Dead in the center of the restaurant district and next to Quebec's fanciest three-star place, if you go for that (we didn't). Big, clean, airy rooms with very elegant decor. Only negative was that our view was of a gas station, and that station had a garbage collection at 6am one morning out of five. Easy walk to all the tourist sites, and to the market. Highly recommend this place.

Area recommendations
I preferred the upper part of the old city (fewer tourists), but the Musee de la Civilization was great, especially the exhibit on Quebec culture, and that museum is in the lower Vieux Quebec area. Generally a very nice city for a short visit,

“Looks good on paper”

This hotel looked great on paper - great location, great ambience, stylish hotel rooms. Good thing - the staff were great, friendly, helpful..... Problem for summer travellers - there is a large patio bar out front and the music and noise goes on until 1:30-2am....if you have a front facing room, it will keep you awake. And the fold out sofa beds are not comfortable.

“Great location in Quebec”

Little away from hotels higher up hill more congested with tourists.Short stroll to funicular that will carry you up the hill letting you have an easy stroll downhill back to Hotel. In all directions from Hotel easy stroll to many restaurants and upmarket clothing stores and art and antique shops. Several local shops nearby where we bought local bread, cheese, wine and yummy desserts. The small kitchen in room was good, we enjoyed cooking our breakfast . We ate at several restaraunts, enjoying the small local place the most, just down from the St. Malo restaurant. Decor of Hotel bar and restaruant area both inside and out very modish and they played good chill out music. Service was slow however so we ate out . The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. We would return there. From Airport to Hotel cost $32.00 by cab. Buses from airport involve a change and time consuming.

Area recommendations
Old Quebec inside the wall.

“Great location and very cool hotel”

The location is perfect. Walking distance to resturants, shopping, etc. The hotel used to be an old warehouse and they have retained the walls...the rooms are very modern and upscale. Only complaint is the bar/club on the first floor which can be noisy late into the night if you are in one of the rooms right above it. Inspite of closing all the windows, the music was loud and on for pretty late in the night.

“Great location for visiting old Quebec”

Really hip hotel. Modern decor. Food at the bar was very good, but we didn't try the restaurant. Strangely the room was missing some simple creature comforts - luggage rack, robe hooks, good bathroom lighting, soap holder in shower. We would definitely stay there again. Parking was convenient and the hotel is across the street from old Quebec.

“Great location and younger staff eager to please”

I was happy with the hotel in genera;. It has the charm of an old building and also a few of the imperfections of an old building as well. No towel racks in the bathroom. Toilet running constantly (sound of running water) all night long. We did not make a complaint about it (I guess we should have, in hindsight) because it was a nuisance but not really serious. This hotel is in an excellent location, on the corner of Rue St Pierre and Quays Andre, although do not trust your GPS or google maps as they will make you find yourself driving uphill among narrow streets full of pedestrians.. The entrance to the parking area (right in front of the hotel) is off of Quays Andre, right before Dalhousie Street. The old farmer's market is just a 5 minute walk and I recommend a stroll there for fresh croissants and chocolatines with your coffee. That was the best breakfast!

Area recommendations
-Old Quebec- lots of walking uphill and up stairs. I mean lots! This part of the city (within the walls) is definitely NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. Even in restaurants the washrooms were located upstairs or downstairs. Not many ramps. Be prepared to walk. the Chateau du Frontenac is magnificent and if you can't handle all the hundreds of steps uphill you can take the funiculaire for $2.25 and that's not bad. - We mostly just walked around and enjoyed the restaurants. - We drove 2.5 hours to Tadoussac/ Baie St Catherine for a whale watching adventure on a zodiac. It was amazing and I recommend it!
