“Perfect location”
Located right outside the wall of Old Quebec, so you are as close as possible without actually having to stay right in Old Quebec. It is at the end of a street filled with restaurants. Right behind the hotel is Battlefield Park. Horse carriage rides go right past the hotel. The pool is nice and there are two outdoor hot tubs. The only drawback is that the room is small, but that is to be expected in that area. Would definitely stay there again.
“The hotel will be our home the next time we visit Quebec City.”
The hotel is in an excellent location and allows you to venture and to walk around the area before entering the walls of the Old City and very comfortable walk to the tourist sites and restaurants within the Walled City.
“A nice hotel”
Very good service. Breakfast not great.
“Great location”
Ask for a room with view on the Battlefield Park. They need to improve their business center which is limited to 2 computers at the frontdesk....And if you like to swim, forget it except if you're used to cold water. Beside that I already recommended this hotel to my friends because of it's location and the staff at the front desk was always available and friendly.
“A great hotel in Quebec”
The staff were friendly, the location superb with great access to the Plains of Abraham, restaurants, downtown.
“A perfect visit to old Quebec!”
This is a lovely hotel! Our family was thrilled with the quality for the price. The lobby is elegant and spacious, the rooms are fresh and well appointed, and the outdoor hot tubs are a special treat! The location is terrific for sightseeing - old Quebec starts a few blocks away: you are right beside the Parliament Buildings, the Plains of Abraham and the upper gate to the old city. We parked our car and toured on foot. We were tired after two days and the room was so comfortable for a relaxing family movie! The Hotel Chateau Laurier is a perfect blend of old and new: you feel like you are staying at a historical location but everything is clean and modern. A whole block of restaurants are right around the corner - very convenient and not all "chain" restaurants.
“Specify your room, otherwise prepare for unhappy surprise”
First the good news. Considering location, friendliness of staff, quality of food, and over all value for money, this hotel is an excellent choice for a visitor to Quebec city. WARNING: If we ever go back, we will certainly ask for a room facing the inner courtyard or the street in front, George V West. We got a room on the 2nd floor (the hotel has only 4 floors) facing a busy main road, Grande Allee. The people noise from bars kept us awake at night. So much for a good rest that we all hope after a busy day of sightseeing! Another minor point (major for my wife) is their failure to clean the room one day, out of the 3 days we stayed. When I reported it to the Front Desk staff, the young lady calmly said:"we had a very busy day at the hotel", without even apologizing or offering to compensate, ( a free breakfast or something) ! Trusting a property for its brand reputation alone is not sufficient, as we learned the hard way. My wife is adamant she will never go back to this hotel.
“Romance in Quebec City”
Loved Chateau Lauier - easy walk to everything. St Hubert on-site is great for breakfast or quick meal after day of touring. Great choice of sidewalk cafes. Hotel staff are great.
“I'll go back!”
Fantastic hotel in every way; great location, large and comfortable room and bathroom. The hotel staff was very helpful and kind. So many opportunities right there and very nice for me to be so near the Art Museum along with the older section and dining venues. I couldn't have been more pleased. I thought it was a good value.
“Would definitely go back”
Excellent location within walking distance to most attractions. Loved the pool and hot tub, room was comfortable and clean. They have a restaurant in the hotel (St Hubert) which came in handy in a thunderstorm. Service was polite and competent. I would definitely go back.
