“Shabby, not chic”
Overall, the Chateau Bellevue offers good value for money, given its location, but the room was dark and dingy and the bathroom was full of plastic fixtures and fittings which looked old and cheap. I had a breakfast meeting elsewhere so didn't try out the hotel's breakfast though it looked busy enough. It offers a good price for leisure travelers on a budget, but would not recommend it to business travelers or those wanting to spend any amount of time in the room. It's a shame, because it is a cute place and I really wanted to like it more...
“Great value, great location!”
Chateau Bellevue is located in the core of Old Quebec City, providing many options for things to do and see. Our room had a beautiful view of the Chateau Frontenac, as well as the river. There were tons of restaurants, cafes and parks to walk around. The staff was very friendly, and were happy to speak with us in English! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The breakfast (included) was also satisfying, with many options to choose from in the self-serve lounge area. The hotel also has a valet service. The only problem we had was finding the hotel when we first arrived. We mapped it through our cellphones, which indicated it was on a one-way street (not true), so it kept taking us around in circles. Alas, this was one of the charms of the whole area. All in all, it was a great experience and we would definitely stay there again.
“"Quebec's best keep secret"”
Everything at this hotel was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel. This is the fourth time I have been to Quebec and this was the best place I have stayed. The lounge in the reception area was a great place to hang out with friends. The breakfast was plentiful and a very pleasant surprise. The view out the front window overlooking the park and river is fabulous. It is also quite inexpensive compared to other places in the area and convenient to so many shops and restaurants.
“Position..Position..Position”
This is a quaint boutique hotel overlooking a park and onto the river. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The rooms are small but after New York they were great, all you need. The rooms were spotless. Each morning breakfast was provided, which was all you needed to start the day. Also you could access coffee, tea, etc throughout the day downstairs in the dining area. You are only a short walk to everything. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Quebec.
“Great location!”
The hotel was clean, and the location was great. My room was a little small, but since I spent very little time in the room except to sleep this was not an issue for me.
“Good location”
This is our 3rd stay here. Improves each time. Very good location. Nice breakfast.
“Charmiing Hotel in the Heart of Old Quebec”
We stayed 2 nights in August, 2011 and were pleasantly surprised. The price of the hotel was within our budget, yet was quite clean, comfortable and charming. The room with a queen bed was not overly large, but it had everything one needs. Bathrooms have been updated with new tile, sinks and tubs and bed was very comfortable. Free wi-fi in the rooms, or use the computer downstairs, and parking was only $15 per day...way below what other hotels charge. There is coffee/tea available all day and a nice ambience in the lobby/front desk area to sit and chat. The hotel staff were all extremely knowledgeable about the area, and were quite helpful. Location is perfect, directly across from a beautiful park, a block from the boardwalk, and Hotel Frontenac, yet on a quiet street. It rained our second day there, but wasn't cold, so we walked around most of the day. Even wet and overcast, the city is beautiful and worthy of photographs. We would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat.
“great loation, everything ok for class of hotel”
great location; everything ok for class of hotel
“Cozy hotel”
I really liked this hotel. The room was small but we were only there to sleep. We had a queen size bed and the room faced the St. Lawrence Seaway. The boardwalk is only 1 and a half blocks away. The trees in the park adjacent to the hotel blocked most of the view of the seaway. The continental breakfast was a nice touch and we ate there every morning. All of the staff were very attentive. You can walk to almost everything from the hotel. Shops and restaurants are only two blocks away on St. Louis Street. Walk diagonally across the park and you will be at the Chateau Frontenac, a very large and beautiful hotel. I recommend the tour there, it was very interesting. Another recommended tour is to St. Anne's, a beautiful cathedral, and the water falls. I would definitely stay there again.
“Nice location next to park and Frontenac”
The Bellevue is aptly named as it faces a lovely park next to the St Lawrence River. It has easy access to the Promenade Dufferin and the 370+ steps to the terrace overlooking the river. It is a little far from Rue St Jean, but in Quebec City all is within walking distance. The Frontenac is 3X the price and is to the left of the Bellevue. The included breakfast is fine, and a coffee and tea service is gratis all day. We had a basement room so our view was limited, but we could see the river and the park. The staff was helpful and it was a quiet hotel- a nice change and a good value. We recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
