"Nice Hotel close to everything we wanted to see. "
Room view was beyond our expectations. TSN on TV in room 614 did not work properly. Staff said they would sent someone up while we went for a walk. But this did not appear to happen, as TV never could never bring in either TSN station. So, we took drinks in the lobby to watch the 2015 Mens World Curling championships. In the morning, we took a coffee at the bar and noticed the display screens for ordering and/or preparing the bill were extremely dirty so we ate breakfast elsewhere. We mentioned this to staff, and filled out the form, before we went for breakfast at a local bakery. Upon our return, we checked the screens, but they were still extremely dirty. Again, about the room, the room was very nice and when we come back in July, we would like the same room.

"problem with first room, fine after moved"
I had read about the check-in around the corner. That was fine. I was also warned about low light for reading. I took a little reading light. What I didn't know was that it was the 4th floor and no elevator. That was a problem. The fellow who checked me in did accompany me to the spot, told me the entry code but didn't tell me it was also on the key ring, and did carry up my suitcase, but only because I sort of fussed about doing all this by myself at 9:30 at night. The bad part was that the room was freezing cold while the hallway was toasty warm. I phoned and was told to adjust the steam heater. I did what I was told but it didn't get better. Meanwhile I kept the door open to get heat into the room. A neighbor also tried to help. After a while, I phoned back to say it wasn't really getting warmer and was told I must be doing something wrong. I tried again. No better. By this time the room warmed up somewhat from the hallway and I was able to get to sleep but wore my full clothing under the covers to stay warm. I was out all day and found the room cold again - this time I was moved to a much nicer room. Everything good after that and the staff could not have been nicer at checkout. Great location

"Lots of thought has gone into Hotel 71"
I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were kind, friendly and conscientious. The lobby and the rooms are beautiful, the location is great. Mostly I was struck by the many thoughtful touches - the towels are bath sheets (large). There's a sensor light under the bed when you get up in the night. A nespresso machine in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. From the fourth floor I could see a little of the water over the buildings.

"Very nice stay right at Mont Sainte-Anne"
Me and my wife went Mountain Biking to Mont Sainte-Anne. This hotel has the perfect location, as you can just ride down hill to the main Chalet and buy your trail pass. The hotel was clean, had a small fridge and stove (but bring your own cooking pan as the one provided is too small). There is a convenience store right across the street. The stay was quiet and pleasant. The only drawbacks were that I din't know the amount of taxes to pay and it was way more than I expected. The other is that the room was not cleaned during our stay, perhaps because of the Canada Day long weekend. But overall I do recommend this hotel.

"East of Quebec West of St. Anne"
First, this is francophone CA not the US, a good thing to remember. Hotel is between Rt. 440 and Rt. 138 both main roads leading from la ville de Quebec along the northern shore of the St. Laurent. Coming from the South (ME., NH, VT) it's a bit hard to get to initially, and requests for directions don't elicit much help when asking for "St. Anne. Blvd." The structure is interesting, an old house, flanked by two nondescript modern new wings. Reception is in the old house, which also contains a Spa/Massage area upstairs. It's an attraction, but not inexpensive. Our room was large, very clean, and had a fridge, microwave and a window that could open, a nice touch. During a two day stay, room was not made up by 3:30 on the second day. Although situated between two main roads, it was relatively quiet. No breakfast provided, but coffee available, and snacks for purchase. On Rt. 138, there's a section of convenience stores nearby, and a byob Greek restaurant that was quite good. This hotel is very near Montmorency, and not far from the Basilica of St. Anne. It's a little harder to get into Quebec City itself due to all the construction both leading to, and inside the city. The relative increase in buying power of the USD is offset by a total of about 15% tax on anything a visitor is likely to buy. Still this is a great area, and Quebec City, although undergoing much construction, is a treasure. If you learned French in the US or France, you may not understand the accent.
