The staff were all lovely and eager to help. Rooms clean and comfortable. People must remember the rooms are small because the buildings are all old Victorian ones so if you're happy accepting that little fact you'll be fine. We had a cot up in our room and whilst it was very snug it was fine and we were comfortable. The bathroom is quite big and clean. The decor is lovely and modern and calming. I like that if you have forgotten something the hotel are able to give them to you (anything from sewing kits, nail files, feminine hygiene products etc). The views from the rooftop are beautiful and in the summer you can apparently have drinks up there. We went in winter so the bar up there was closed but we enjoyed the view. I'm neurotic about bed bugs but am happy to say I didn't see any evidence of them so that's another good point. The area is awesome. Close to everything. Notre Dame is about 5 mins max walk. The louvre is about 12-15 mins walk (you can see it from the bridge which is 1 min from the hotel). Musée d'Orsay is about 20 mins walk. The hotel is right next door to a wonderful little restaurant (Andre something or another) that makes delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. We had spaghetti bolognaise and cheeseburgers and they were so good we went back a second night too. Definitely give them a go and hopefully you'll be served by a great waiter called Frank. One thing the hotel really should do however is include a breakfast like other holiday inns I've stayed at do.
"Great for easy going solo travelers and couple's"
I had originally planed on staying for 5 days and booked a Standard Room, and later decided to add on a day at the beginning of my trip. There were no Standard rooms left, so I went with a Single room.
I arrived right around check-in time and was able to get right into my room. I will admit here, that when I first walked in I thought of Whoopi Goldberg's room from Sister Act. This room was SMALL and very basic, and looked like it had never been updated. The bathroom was also small and took some acrobatics climbing in and out of the shower (over the toilet). However the bed was extremely comfy and I had no problems sleeping that night. The next day I was moved into my Standard room that contained a full/queen size bed, as opposed to the double I booked (no complaints here!) This room was large, freshly renovated and amazing. The bathroom absolutely blew me away! It had top of the line amenities and came with a tub, rather than a shower, which took some getting used to. (They did provide a small soap bar and packet of shampoo, but just bring your own).
The stairs are as steep as everyone implies. If you have multiple bags, this could be a problem (especially when leaving with full suitcases) and the walls are pretty thin. Bring ear plugs just in case. But the beds were comfy, the staff extremely friendly and nice and really just a perfect area to stay in. St. Sulpice is the closest station, and it's easy to get to any major attractions. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Right across from the Rue du Bac Metro station, so you can walk or take the train almost anywhere. Hotel staff is massively friendly - especially Denis. The rooms were great! Though we did have an issue with temperature control.
We stayed in two rooms for a family of 5. It was perfect! Always clean, the staff was always so nice and friendly.....they were very kind about the fact that I couldn't speak French! It was very close to the metro (which is a MUST in Paris) and within walking distance to Notre Dame/The Seine/The Louvre. I would stay here again and recommend it highly! The building was an old beautiful place that was kept very clean! It seemed that we were coming home every night we came back. Thankful for a great stay!
