Consistently high standard

We stayed for a single night twice in August, on the way down and back through France. The staff are friendly, the breakfast buffet excellent, the mojitos in the bar are possibly the best I've ever had. The hotel is located 2 mins from the motorway and has a locked car park- a bonus when travelling with a full boot, roofbox and bikes on the roof. We will definitely use this Novotel again..

One day business trip to CLE airport

Pros: Convenient location, good restaurant, van service, mini-fridge, work area in room. The desk has a rollout table that is usable for another work area.
Cons: Ice machine on the floors, (you have to go to the bar for ice), new hallway carpeting.
Location: I was only on site for one afternoon, evening and night so I did not venture out as I was busy working in the room.
On a short business trip to the Clermont-Ferrand airport aircraft maintenance area, I stayed at the Novotel near the terminal. The hotel is close to the terminal and the hotel has a free shuttle van that will pick you up or drop you off on demand. Hotel is nice and clean, bar, restaurant, pool, outdoor dining area and is pet friendly. There were families with kids and the pool was well used by the other patrons. The hotel appears to have several meeting rooms as well. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean & comfortable with a powerful AC unit.

Well situated for the region

No problems with the hotel apart from getting to it, all the directions specified leaving the autoroute at Jnct 16, but that Jnct was closed for rebuilding. Thank goodness for Sat Nav. Food was surprisingly good for a Novotel and the rooms were excellent.

Very nice hotel room was what I was looking for as a stop over. When I checked out and payed the bill and they charges me for the room I informed them of the mistake as prepayed on Expedia it took them 15 to refund the room and the good thing is they didn't charge for the dog. Will stay again

Nice hotel for a stop over - poor service though

Location: In industrial area out of town. Not much around.
Nice hotel for a stop over if you are travelling further south. We stopped on our way to Spain with our two daughters aged 6 and 3. After travelling all day we were looking forward to a quick meal in the restaurant. The food was a little bit expensive, but we ordered anyway. The food came out quite quickly until the kids dessert. We waited over half an hour for a fruit salad and a fruit pouch. We had to ask the waiting staff three times. As we left we were told the waiter who served us was new and had forgot to tell the kitchen staff. The other two waiters we asked had also failed to tell the kitchen staff. We were reassured that money would be knocked off the bill. Laughingly they knocked 1 euro 70 cents off the bill. This only added insult to injury. Our kids had been travelling for over 12 hours and were pretty tired. To make them wait for their dessert was pretty painful to watch. Very poor service. It was a shame because the hotel itself is OK. It is situated a little out of town. The exit from the motorway was shut, so we had to navigate a bit to find the hotel. The room was adequate, but there was little in the way of UK TV. There is free wifi and the buffet breakfast was excellent. The desk staff were nice enough checking in, but a bit surely checking out. On balance I would not recommend the hotel due to the bad service in the restaurant. There are plenty of other hotels on the same road.

Hotel was located just off the motorway, which is convenient. However, as the Air-Conditioning was "turned off" for Winter and it was quite warm, we had to have the window open and the noise from the motorway was quite intrusive and stopped us from having a good nights sleep. We did request the Air Con to be turned on, but they were not able to do this. I found that the information about the Hotel was mis-leading, as it did state that one of its amenities was Air-Con. Perhaps, this reference should be removed during winter???? Also, in the morning, we went down fonrbreakfast to be told it was finished. However they had not told us when checking in of the time for breakfast. They did suggest that we could talk to a staff member from the breakfast area to see if they could take us still, the reception staff then turned around and started talking to each other. There was no offer to find out for us, it seemed to much effort for the reception staff to do anything. I actually found them quite rude (whether this was because we didn't speak French), as there were obviously talking about my husband and I in French while we were standing there. Also, when checking out, they stated that the room had not been paid for, so my husband paid for it while I was packing the car. When he told me, we went back inside and said it had been already paid for, the reception staff then looked at our account on the computer and went oh yes, so it has. Very disappointed with our Novotel Stay.

The staff were only interested in dealing with French speaking guests we were totally ignored when waiting for a table for breakfast. A French family who are arrived after us were seated and we were still ignored. We complained to reception but they did not seem to take our complaint seriously so we left!!

Convenient stopover but not quite usual standard.

Location: V convenient , just off motorway.
We stopped here overnight on our way back from Spain, wanting the usual high standard and comfort level from Novotel. We had a family room with double and 2 single beds which was fine, but found the bathroom was a bit lacking, bath and fittings were plasticky and towels thin. Was all clean and decent though, just not up to the usual standard expected. Breakfast was excellent but pricey for 2 and there hadn't been an option to book room with breakfast ( as we'd normally do) In all, was ok, but seemed pricy and a little below par.
