“Amazing, i will be going back”
My stay at The Royal Turquesa was amazing, the staff was very friendly and comforting. We stayed in the swim up deluxe, it was breathtaking. The service was great. The 24 hr [free] room service was very convenient. I highly recommend this resort.
“Good Time.”
Vey nice resort and very good service. Food excellent. Swin up room was very nice and worthwhile. The only negative is that right next door to the Royal suites are public shops, restaurants and bars. We could hear music and noice all night long. The beach vendors are also quite annoying when you try and walk the beach to the right of the resort. They are located right beside the Royal Suites beach. No air conditioning or even ceiling fans in the restaurants so it is very hot especially for dinner. Men are required to wear long pants but ladies can wear alter tops, short shorts or very innapropriate clothing for dinner. I have no issues with wearing pants but we saw ladies with ripped very short jeans shorts in the restaurants. All in all a very nice place.
“Great Resort!!!! Get the swim up rooms...”
We stayed at the Royal Suites in the older section and then looked at the swim up rooms. We asked if we could have one of those rooms instead and it was no problem to change rooms for an additional $16 a night! Cheaper than online and It was definetly worth it!! The food was ok we didnt starve Make reservations for all the restaurants the day you get there...Although we went to the Japanese restaurant at 6:30 with no reservations and got right in but others had long waits. All of the hotel staff was wonderful and very helpful.. The ones that didnt speak our language went and got someone who did. The only complaint was the bug bites!! Bring some bug spray with you and use it as you can not feel them biting until you feel them itch!! We did the Seaaquarium tour booked at the hotel and it was sooo much fun!!!! The ride there took us almost an hour after the bus picked up others at different resorts. We got to see some of the other resorts along the way though..
“not impressed”
The pool have bad condition need maintenance, food was good a la carte, in the buffet not satisfied.
“Plan on returning with my wife. Took my son's and they want to go back with their friends.”
The Hotel, room, pool, beach, and food were all fantastic. The room was large enough for 3 beds. The assorted restaurants had fantastic food since it was all-inclusive, though they need to improve on their choice of desserts. The room overlooked the pool and wasn't far from beach. They had a large spa with ample exer. equipment. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The resort is very large with multiple sections. Some for families and others for adults only. I would recommend it to anyone. We met New Yorkers from other hotels who paid more for less nites than what we got at this resort.
“can't wait to go back”
great place for vacation
“Everything they said it would be.”
The stay was very nice. I only had one problem. I was not aware that it was a requirement to wear long pants at the main restarants for dinner. I did not read that on hotels website. So once I was turned away at the door I just figured I would go to the shop that was on the grounds and purchase some pants. I got to the shop and the only pair of pants sold on the grounds were a pair of linen pants for $75 USD. Wow. Besides that, no complaints.
“unacceptable behavior from "Andy" the hotel lobby customer service rep.”
Our room was nice and clean. The swim up pool was filthy and the filters were not on. We called the lobby but no one ever showed up. The next morning, Nicholas our butler came over and made sure that the pool was cleaned and the filters were turned on. The food was ok. The breakfast buffet at the Gourmet Restaurant was good. I suggest anyone going to this resort, take bug spray, believe me, you'll need it. The nightclub was ok, because actually, there isn't another one elsewhere. As soon as you walk in, the stench is overbearing. After a while, you get used to it. The day we checked out, there was a bus that was going to pick us up and take us to the airport. When we were waiting for the bus and it didn't arrive, we asked the lobby customer service whose name is Andy, if he can call the bus company to see if they were going to pick us up. Andy was upset that we were asking him to call. When Andy called the bus company, they put him on hold and he just hung up the phone and tod us to get our butler to do it, because he can't be bothered. he then said he's not allowed to make phone calls. Another lobby employee saw how rude Andy the lobby customer service was towards us and said she would help us. Within minutes everything was fine, the bus came and we left, but not before Andy told us that he doesn't have to help us. we then told him that yes he does, that it was his job. It was a sad ending to a trip that my friend and I were looking forward to for a very long time.
“Beautiful beach, unimpressive food, but overall nice place”
The beach was beautiful - long (great for walks, jogging etc.) with soft sand, many available lounge chairs, and gorgeous water with few waves. The pools (especially those on the surrounding properties, which were very close by) were also beautiful, some great for lap swimming, if that's your pleasure. Property is lovely. employees very helpful. Lots of Spanish spoken, but you can get by if you don't speak Spanish. Room was comfortable. Our original room had a terrible septic-tank odor, so they moved us to a better room, although the bathroom began to take on that smell towards the end of our stay. Food at most restaurants was mediocre and disappointing. Skip the beach b-b-q. Royal Gourmet restaurant didn't require reservations, but wouldn't seat 5 of us outside, only inside, where it was unbearably hot - avoid that one. Buffet breakfast (ask for that one) better than the sit-down. Lunch buffet good (mostly same stuff every day), try the chicken burgers and soft-serve ice cream...great! On the property, look for flamingoes and peacocks...beautiful, great photo ops. Went to one show (the Michael Jackson review)...was entertaining. Royal Suites allows late check-out if you need it - very accommodating. We won't return because we like to try different all-inclusives, but this was a very nice place and, if you don't mind mediocre food (you won't starve, and some food was actually tasty) you'll find a vacation at Royal Suites to be relaxing and battery-charging.
“Nice resort, but beware of casino.”
First the bad news, the casino is not regulated and is not affiliated with the resort. They give you promotional chips to try to get you hooked on a game called progressive roulette. Internet search "progressive roulette Dominican Republic" and you will find stories of people that have lost thousands of dollars playing this game. It is a scam all the way. I would not put it past them to not have full decks and have marked cards at the tables. Stay away from the casino. The resort is very nice with beautiful beaches. They maintain it well with excellent service. The restaurants are decent. However, you cannot get mixed drinks with dinner. The best for us was the Japanese restaurant. Nice room, very nice pools, excellent expresso drinks and decent spa. It is hard to go wrong there as long as you stay out of the casino.
