“PUNTACANA EXCURSION”
my first trip to punta cana, and i must say highly impressed, i had read several reviews on the punta cana princess prior to booking this resort, and must say the reviews here are very accurate. Hotel Concierge was very pleasant took care of all our needs. the grounds and hotel were kept up. Everything is truly all inclusive from the restaraunts, to the bar, virtually all the alcohol was free. I had one bad experience which was not the fault of the resort. Being a new international traveler i was unaware that U.S. banks put blocks on credit and debit cards.. after exhausing my cash i was unable to retrieve money at any of the atm machines! luckily my fiancees mom covered my remaining expenses. I was also unable to reach my bank over the weekend as it was closed. Moral of the story, bring a good amount of cash with you to cover each day you stay! the locals will be ready to sell you on their goods, and let your bank know if you are an international traveler especially leaving the U.S. i can imagine Europe is probably the same amongst other Major Countries.
Area recommendations
Most of the Major resorts on Bavarro Beach and Punta Cana you can't loose! You don't have to leave the grounds while at Punta Cana Princess, as a matter of fact i recommend not leaving the grounds of this resort or whichever resort you choose. .Punta Cana Princess also has sister resorts, Caribe , tropical and Bavarro princess. all of which have even more amenities and have free shuttle access between the hotels their less then a mile from one another. also accessible by walking the strip of beach.
Getting there
Bring Cash! make sure you tell your bank you are using your credit or debit card out of the country or they will block it!. (I had a bad experience and could not access my cash! ) try to get your airport transfer included in your resort/hotel package.. average transfer from airport is about $38 usd and 1 or 2 companies seems to have the monopoly on taxis..
What to pack
Dominican Republic stays warm/hot humid all year round.. pack light, shorts, ladies, skirts, pack your swimwear, no shortage of beautiful pools, with the beach right behind all of the resorts.
Dining
the food was excellent again you want to book something all inclusive! alchol, drinks, breakfast lunch and dinner are free!
Nightlife
While i was their they had nighttime beach parties..discotech (club on the grounds) fine dining at several of the restaraunts, live guitarist.. utilize all of the related resorts..(sister resorts and your main resort for activities) no shortage!
