Massive hotel

Posted 19-May-2015
Pros: a lot to offer...good schedule of activities...good selection of restuarants
Cons: No motorized water sports was an issue for me.
Location: not much to do nearby, some excursions are available but mostly confined to resort.
Very grand property. A lot of pools and water activities to keep you busy. Good music and DJ by the pool. The beach is very nice, but the water is rough and the current is strong and no motorized water sports. The hotel has a plethora of shops and quite a few restaurants, and the casino and sports bars are very nice as well.

Good Hotel, Poor Organization,

Posted 16-May-2015
Pros: Big, well taken care of.
Cons: The time spend at the vacation offices, inability to book trips through the hotel phone
Hotel makes really nice impression, unfortunately right at the check-in had first unpleasant situation where clerk clearly made fun of us in an unpleasant way, we felt very unwelcomed. Booked this trip through Expedia. I'm Expedia Gold Member and there are some additional perks that I should receive. Unfortunately hotel wasn't aware about these perks, I had to spend my own vacation time (if summed all up, it would be close to half a day of sitting in their offices and dealing with issues). At the last day, both my girlfriend and I caught some sort of stomach flu, up to the point where my gf ended up in medical office at the airport with an IV in her vein, not knowing if we're going to be able to fly home. We had to pay extra medical costs. I really want to think good about my vacation at Hard Rock, but when you experience such situations, it really stays in your head overpowering the nice experiences.

Décevant malgré certains atouts

Posted 12-May-2015

Hard Rock Getaway!

Posted 11-May-2015
Very big resort. Lots of things to do. Good casino. Sometimes wished for more seclusion. But overall very satisfied with the trip. Staff was very nice and helpful. But the folks trying to endlessly sell you future stakes in hard rock hotels was annoying. Generally clean, food overall was good and sometimes very good. Never had a bad meal really. We didn't take kids but saw lots of families that did. There seemed to be plenty for youngsters too.

Will definately go again

Fantastic experience. The hotel is immaculate. I travel often and try not to stay in the same location twice but this is definately a place I will come back to again. It was a big hotel. I stayed for 7 days and there was still lots of stuff to do I only got to experience a little more than half the hotel. If you do go out to Dominican Republic I would definately say spend the little extra and go there it was worth every penny.

Huge property. No wow factor

Posted 03-May-2015
Celebrated a birthday @ the HR. For the amount of money they charge we've seen better. Sorry to say. Huge electric issue in room which we just laughed about it. Bathroom and bedroom light wouldn't stay on simultaneously. The premise introduces 13 pools but most are for VIP or legend membership lol. The top shelf dispenser inside room is not of good quality. Very cheap Ron Barcelo Rums and Tequila. Not a good brand for top dollar. The shuttle to the lobby takes too long and forces you to walk to the lobby. The property is 8 buildings which is broken up in A B C section. (Ex: 1A-1B-1C) Huge property for a great workout lol. Pools close @7pm so forget about swimming during late pm hours. Casino was nice and spa too. There's a club inside Casino called ORO which charges a $15 cover fee for each per. Plus a pay bar. VIP will run you about $150 which only includes a champagne bottle. Food was average, atv in jungle was fun , catamaran was fun and staff are nice but unfortunately the wow factor wasn't there for us at this resort. Happy we got to experience the HR @ Punta Cana and the beaches are lovely. I hope these comments help someone else at their next stay in Punta Cana. Like most things in life... You pay for the Name or Location. LOL. YOLO. :)

Unhappy in the republic!

Posted 02-May-2015
Pros: Staff very friendly.
Cons: The attitudes of the front desk staff & managers.
This hotel is equipped with 7,000 rooms..We "REQUESTED" (as per the manager @ the front desk) a king size bed, but they were unable to fulfill our request. We were unable to get a explanation as to why?? All the manager kept saying is we only requested a king & that we should take our "issues" back to Expedia, which I intend on doing! Also as late as 4:30 PM our room still hadn't been cleaned on Wed. & Thurs. The food..It's an All Inclusive..nothing to write about!

Terrible food !!!!

Posted 02-May-2015
The hotel was great, the staff was super friendly and the beach was amazing. However the food was unbelievably horrible, all the restaurants they have to choose from for the all inclusive are one grade above unedible. So bad that we had to go to another resturaunt and pay for our dinner just to avoid their food.
