Not what I hoped for

Pros: There was a beach. Staff was nice.
Cons: Everything. Food needs help.
Location: Not a thing around.
Too spread out, long walk to food and entertainment with no cover from the rain. The place is in need of an update.

despite all the bad reviews I read I decided to take a chance at this resort and it was the best decision I've ever made this place is amazing please don't let the bad reviews discourage you from going I spent 7 beautiful days here and I will return. the food, beautiful views, the scenery the excursions it was all well worth it!!!

Im not sure why there aren't better reviews about this place. The price for what you get is amazing. A few tips for anyone who plans to travel here. Upgrade to a honeymoon sweet, totally worth all the perks. The private beach is beautiful, there are always plenty of chairs available. If you upgrade you'll get to enjoy champagne delivered to your room along with room service with no fees. Everyday there are activities on the beach and at the pool. Every night there is entertainment at the theatre. We went snorkeling on our beach and were amazed with the fish we saw. There is a creperie at the beach bar. You can get a massage on the beach. If you upgrade there is a private dining area with traditional Spanish tapas. Overall great vacation. Recommendations: ensure you have travel arrangements back to the airport. Expedia arranged our travel to the hotel but not from it. Wasted our last half day figuring out what we had to do to check out and get a taxi to the airport. Also, the Japanese restaurant is difficult to get in to, so you have to be there early. We also thought this was our least favorite restaurant and not worth the hassle. Overall, we would definitely go back to this resort

This is my third time in this hotel. Positive: good service, good food, relatively quiet taking in consideration that was spring break Negative, the beach is declining, there is a lot of seaweed, and rocks at the bottom, not enough beach chairs, so guests end up stealing chairs from each other's.

Pros: We like about hotel have almost everything accessible at the whole time and all hotel worker are hard dedicated and proficient on their job,
Cons: Wi-Fi, need to improve, I recommend probably routers in each room, few complaint and the staff never got back to me to see if the problem was fix
Location: Location is great
My spouse and I have a great experience, complete satisfied with almost everything about Catalonia, staff extremely great and treat you like an a family oriented environment.

Beautiful Resort

High pressure sales for time shares. I paid full price for my trip so I did not receive a discount to listen to a time share promotion. Because of the language barrier, we were coersed into a meeting where we were thought we were going to discuss the shuttle time back when actually they were pressuring us to take the time share tour. As soon as I found out what they were doing, I told them no way I am going to the beach. Even after we told them No, they would ask every day. Also high pressure sales for excursions and Friday night vendors they allow to come into the resort. It's a real shame because the resort and beach was beautiful and the food was ok. Apparenly, other resorts in Dominican do the same high pressure time share sales because we got to talking to other travelers at the airport who stayed at other resorts and they had the same experience. I have stayed at many all inclusive resorts in many different countries and this is the first time experiencing this.

I Just recently stayed at this hotel with a group of friends for spring break , to find out this is more of a family resort. 95 percent of the workers do not speak english, you ask the front desk for something and they DONT even know the answer to try to assist you. I also upgraded my room for an extra 25 dollars a night to find out I do not even have hot water in my shower .. The shower head was hanging on by a thread, the toilet Would clog everytime I flushed... For the amount this hotel cost me, it was Not worth the price .

9 jours passés dans cet hôtel très agréable, jardins luxuriants très bien entretenu. Chambre très confortable avec terrasse et hamac. Points faibles: le manque de transats à la piscine et un des restaurants où il est difficile de s'y restaurer car très petit pour la taille du complexe. Très sympathique toujours des animations et des spectacles en soirée.

If you can afford to be in a better place, then do it! service, food, shows, installation,... all is 60% of a luxury place
