“Great accomodations, not so great food”

The overall hotel grounds were beautiful. Unfortunantely, my husband and I both got sick ( on different days)...he at the begining and me at the end of our stay. Do not drink the water and be careful or the ice melting in your mixed drinks. We both were sick to the point we could not leave our rooms and enjoy the gorgeous weather outside.

“Exceeded our expectations.”

This place should be rated with 5 stars. You feel like you're in paradise. There are endless things to do. The favorite is the nightly broadway show in a state of the art outdoor theatre. The food options are good too. Would not recommend the french restaurant. The views from the restaurant are unbeatable. Good place to honeymoon and also bring little ones, it's big enough with enough to do for everyone without being on top of eachother. Would definitely bring the extended family next time.

“Great facilities, poor service.”

The hotel seems brand-new but the staff could really use some training or at least taught some manners. They are uninformed and rude, it would seem as if teyre not paid well or are forced to wok there. Service Is below average and that really bothers you hen it's supposed to be a five star venue.

“Beautiful resort”

My wife and I were extremely impressed with this resort. Specifically with the hotel, the beach, the pools and the room was great. We stayed in a junior sweet beach front. Beach front actually ment beach front with this resort. The resort was all inclusive, the drinks were great but the food could use some improvement. We traveled with our three year old and she had a lot of fun especially in the kids pool. The staff was very courteous and made the stay wonderful. We plan to return in May.

“Good Vacation”

We had a great time. However, the policy of men having to wear long pants in all the restaurants and casino was definitely not to my liking or comfort. Also, internet service was not provded free of charge, as one would expect in this day and age. The registration personnel and restaurant waiters did not speak English very well and there was confusion in getting our message and order understood. The hotel, however, is very clean and the pool and beach is wonderful.

Area recommendations

Only stayed at the resort - did not go elsewhere.

What to pack

If you are a man, pack more than 1 pair of long pants because they do not allow men in the restaurants and casino without them.

“Can't wait to go back!!!”

“Going back!”

Barcelo is a fantastic resort chain and lived up to its reputation in Punta Cana! The most beautiful beach I have ever seen, great service, breathtaking views. I cannot put it into words how wonderful our trip was.

“A must if you're going to PUNTA CANA!!!”

This place blew us away!!! The room, the beach, the employees- they were all more than we expected. Next time we visit Punta Cana we are definitely staying here again!

Area recommendations

We signed up for the excursions offered at the guest services office. The trip to the caves & Saona Island was wonderful.

When to go

October was the perfect month! Not too many people in the resort, so no waiting for anything!
