"Friendly staff, Beautiful Views and Comfy Rooms."
Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms were great, the views were unbelievable and the service was top notch.
-Staff: the staff were the friendliest I have ever been around. They were so helpful. Everyone from the waiters, to the maid and butler service, the trolley and golf cart drivers, and the concierge and greeters at the main entrance! Just so wonderful. Gomez, Francisco, and Gonzalo at Aquazul took great care of us everyday for lunch. They truly went above and beyond.
-Rooms: the rooms were great. Requested an ocean view room when booking. It was spectacular. Beds are comfy. Great showers.
-Food: The food was good. You have 2 restaurants to choose from. Both are very good. Breakfast offers a big variety as well and is very good. You can also take a cab into town if you tire of the food at the resort.
-Construction: Tower 6 is currently being finished and there is quite a bit of construction noise if you stay in tower 4. The construction is almost complete, but is something to be aware of.
-Airport Selling: when you walk through the airport to get a taxi, you will most certainly be approached by someone saying they work for Garza Blanca and that they can help you. This person will then pass you off to someone trying to set you up for a sales meeting to become a member of a property man. club. Just be aware. If you are interested, go for it. If not, keep walking and find your cab outside!! These meetings take a lot of your time.

Been to Puerto Vallarta many times, this stay is one of my favorites. The location is perfect, great beverages, spacious lovely room, several choices of delicious food.......Amazing pleasant and caring staff!!!
Not much more to ask for great customer service and beautiful pools, grounds, and location...give it a try!!!
If you like a hotel in the old town, mixed in with real local people, rather than an enclave apart, this is the hotel for you! The staff is efficient and friendly, and the accommodations pleasant in every way without being too luxurious. The prices are more than reasonable. The hotel is in a U-shape facing the ocean, five stories tall, with facing balconies. The daily breakfast buffet is outstanding, and there is often entertainment at night with dinner. The hotel is advertised as family friendly, which it is, but not so that others would not find it very comfortable and congenial as well. You can walk right off a main street of the old town, through the open doors of the hotel, out into the pool area (several different types of pool), onto the small boardwalk, onto the beach, and into the ocean! An unobstructed path! I have stayed here three times, and plan on coming back often!
This hotel is nestled up on a mountain side in Concha Chinas not far from Los Muertos beach and downtown. The rooms are very nice and large and have outstanding views of the bay. Service was good and staff very pleasant. While not located on the beach, they do offer a shuttle service to the beach, and they provide a $60 (approx.) credit each day at the 2 restaurant locations the shuttle takes you to (this is if you're on the all-inclusive package).
I am sure you can book a much more luxurious hotel in PV for a lot more money, but the facility, staff, food and amenities are hard to beat for the price. We just got back yesterday from staying for 5 nights at the Melia, and had a great time. Simple, but clean rooms, good (and sometimes great) food, great service, and the pool and beach were terrific. Figuring out how everything worked was a challenge, at times. The "concierge" were the people who were in charge of telling us about things going on, but were also paid for convincing us to attend a sales meeting. The sales meeting information was conveyed very clearly, but the information about the opportunities available to us during our visit took a back seat. Only on the second or third day did we know what questions to ask to get the information we needed. I wish they had had a handout with all of the opportunities and how we would go about arranging them.
