“San Marino great staff and location”

This hotel is located right on the water close to the old town. The staff are amazing and very accomodating. We had a great time.

Area recommendations
Explore the old town, walk throught the various neighbourhoods; ride the buses. Take a bus up the coast. This is a slice of Mexico that is very special.

“Already planning a return trip!”

Love love love the location of the San Marino and the convenience of everything. Food wasn't amazing, but it was nice and easy for lunch-probably best to eat out for dinner and enjoy all the wonderful restaurants in the surrounding few blocks. I'd also recommend the sea kayaking that the activity guys do every day-a lot of fun and we even saw a mother and baby dolphin one afternoon!

“best location possible”

We were greeted with a margarita on the house. Everyone was very polite and helpful. We had a great room except for the bed that was hard as a rock. For the price that was easy to overlook. Being right next to the ocean couldn't be beat. We would stay there again.

Area recommendations
We went to Yelapa for 5 nights. It's our second time there and enjoyed the peace and tranquility. We stayed at Casas Garcia. Great place.

“Had a great time!...we are going back!!!!”

the hotel overall was good. we recommend getting an ocean view. The sitting room in the suite was cruddy...the bathroom great, the bedroom part and balcony very very nice....needed better lighting (an outlet didnt work, bathroon just a little dark too..not fancy but the room was great for two people...spacious enough!. The staff was very nice! we liked the adult only pool. The food (we did the all inclusive) was decent, nothing fancy. If you like walking around the neigborhood or the beach area it was perfect!!! Sensational views, too. we are retruning to Puerto Vallarta and going to stay at the San Marino again

Area recommendations
we stayed in the old section of Peurto Vallarta close to down town...enjoyed it very much.....if you like walking, shopping, goig out for good food, coffee, beacjh and water....all there!!! Close enough to go on tours (which we did not do...next year!)
What to pack
nothing fancy, we wentin mid march, did not need long pants. we wnet in mid march
Nightlife
Plenty of places to go out to eat...reasonable prices, good food!!!! Plenty of places to grab a drik, listen to music, etc...if you like ight life stuff.
Outdoors or beach

“Great Hotel in Old Town”

This is our first time staying here, have stayed at others but not all inclusive. The price was excellent for 2 weeks, not much more than the non all inclusive. The location is great we love old town. Our room was a jr. suite over looking the ocean. It was very clean and we had a good bed not so hard as other times. There is not much going on at the Hotel but thats okay we like to go out and sight see. We knew going there its 2 1/2 star so we didnt expect anything more than what was there. The breakfasts are good always fresh fruit, omelets etc. Lunch is good also but didnt care for the supper buffet. We would check it out then decide if we liked it or go out. There are lots of good restaurants to pick from and always good. The staff are very friendly and accomadating. I had read in other reviews how you get bombarded by time share people when you check-in but that never happen to us, they did bring us a beer and that was great. People going to PV have to remember its the gay capital of the world and if you dont wont to see that dont go there. If you dont wont to get bombarded by venders on the beach you should stay at the pool also. The bar closes at 10 but thats alright for us we where usually done by then or if not we would get a couple of extras and go to our balcony. Bottom line for this hotel dont stay at this one if you are expecting a "5" star you have to remember its a 2 1/2 and thats what you get! " We will go back to the San Marino" Cheers

When to go
Its maybe best to go to PV before the middle of march, the mexicans celebrate somebodys birthday and easter is really big. They all come from the mountains and take over the beach and the motels, one time we also seen them set up tents and have camp fires and are very noisy all night long. So its not best to go then.

“Not impressed”

Very small resort. Lots of older people. Location is in the boys-town of PV. Not recommended at all for college students. All-inclusive but the food and drinks were horrible.

“Best choice at Puerto Vallarta Downtown”

If you are looking for the best location to meet Vallarta, surrounded of restaurants and shops definitely this is the best option. Food was ok, room was very clean, and acceptable for the price we pay: bed, TV with cable, Bathroom and Balcony, is all you needed when you are planing pass almost all the time out from the room. The Staff is very friendly, there is a pool with ocean view only for adults. If you want the best location at beach, with the best price, San Marino is the choice.
