“Hotel Rosita - Right Price - Perfect Location”
We like to be in the heart of a city. The Rosita is downtown and next to the "boardwalk." Five-star hotels are out at the marina and convenient to nothing, or maybe to Sam's Club. Rosita rooms are simple, clean, and spare in terms of amenities - no hair dryers. The hotel is on the beach, has a pool, and people come to watch the sun set. Ask for a room facing the ocean or has a beach view. Street rooms will be noisy. Restaurants and buses are right there! The hotel includes a breakfast, but a menu is available for French toast, oatmeal, fruits, etc. Happy hour: 5 - 7 p.m. The drinks are watery. Ricardo gives out cards for the Rio Grande restaurant, which is about three blocks north. The card provides for free guacamole. The hotel owners have another nearby hotel on the beach, Pescador. For the price and the amount of time we spent in Room 328, the Rosita was excellent. If you want to meet people who travel a bit on the edge, you will find them at the Rosita.
“I Love This Old Hotel!”
I love this old hotel! Built in 1948, it was one of the first...if not THE first hotel in the area. It's not fancy, so you really can't judge it compared to glitsy modern places. But it's clean, is extremely well located and friendly. Be warned though that when you see a really good deal for rooms, they are the rooms on the street side. They are decent rooms, just noisy. Come prepared with ear plugs for those rooms. I like the older, funkier ocean view rooms. They now are including some sort of breakfast. It's very basic. Eat it and spend your money on a great mid-day meal.
“Location, Location, Location”
Well maintained, traditional Mexican hotel.
“A great inexpensive hotel”
simple, clean, free breakfast & nice view
“Nice location and price”
The Hotel was very clean. Staff very nice and helpful. It is an older Hotel so things were aged. The Elevator broke down on day 3 of trip, never fixed, but we were using the stairs anyway. Hallway loud at night. Breakfast was good, eggs, beans, fresh bread, juice, coffee, and a starchy item.
“like the location next to Malecon. Great for walking”
The breakfast was included and the buffet was very good..
“Great little inexpensive Mexican owned/operated hotel on the beach”
Location: right in the heart of town with easy walking to shops and it's on the beach Happy hour was starting as we checked in. Front desk staff spoke little English, and I speak little Spanish, but it wasn't a problem. I showed them the print-out of the Expedia confirmation and they didn't even want a credit card for check-in purposes (most hotels do, whether you've prepaid or not). Wireless Internet free to guests. Half a block from Primera Plus bus line's ticket sales office. It's not fancy, but it's clean, comfortable and reasonable and the location is great. Worth the slightly higher price to get a room facing the ocean.
“roses to the rosarito”
I liked the mexican tourists who were there. felt like a mexican hotel not too gringoish.
“PV on the Malecon”
The price is extremely right, location is perfect. If you are on a honeymoon or trying to impress this is not the place for you. But if you want to walk the malecon, beach, shops, hit all the restaurants/sports bars in town and don't need the 5 star hotel qualities then this is the place for you. You are right at the center of town within walking distance of the cathedral, hot spots and have great bus service. This hotel is right across from McDonalds, down the street from Woolworths, and you have the equivalent to 7/11s every where you look. Word of advise, don't have your room on the street side. Try to get a room over looking the ocean or at least along the side and off the main drag. Our room was in a package deal however I did up grade to a room overlooking the pool and could see the ocean and it was worth it! Have fun, enjoy!
“Great Location”
My second time at the hotel. Dec 11-18 2010. The hotel is very Mexican. American breakfast consist of scrambled eggs, beans and tortillas. But they would let you order other items if you wanted, Like ham and eggs. Hotel is clean. The bar is reasonably priced and the waitress is excellent. Location is right at the north end of the Malecon. So lots to see and do around. We had a ocean front room. Bars can be a little noisey at night but not to bad.
