“Not What It's Cracked Up To Be”
First of all, we booked a smoking room and there are NO smoking rooms. Food was poor. Wève stayed at All Inclusives before and the food at Melia ranks with the worst. They wanted $15 per day for internet access...even in the lobby. The staff was overly nice either. I would not recommend Melia. For a good time, great food and a reasonable price, choose Hola!
“Perfect hotel”
The best resort for the price. It was our second time in this hotel and we had amazing vacation !
“Great Vacation”
Overall the attitude of the people working in there is great. It needs some building improvements that seem to be working on them Sometimes water was not totally hot. And our room need it some attention but once we make them aware they fixed fast with no troubles for us. Food was good.
“Relaxation with limits”
the service was great but the food was horrible, nothing had flavor and it was almost the same food everyday
“Ready to go back anytime!”
The reception personnel are friendly and helpful. The diningroom waiters are attentive and pleasant, appreciative of any effort at our Spanish attempt. The entertainment (shows) each night was superb! Kudos to them, as they made the visit even more enjoyable. Not to mention the wonderful beaches to walk every day. A #1 experience.
“Ole Mexico”
Best service and polite, efficient staff.
“Best wedding ever!”
My husband and I renewed our vows over Thanksgiving and stayed at the hotel with 43 guests. Lisa was our wedding planner and she was amazing. Everything was taken care of for us. We had veteran PV travelers as well as new ones. Everyone was thrilled with the hotel, ammenities and food, It was a bit of a cab ride to town, but we went in anyway and had a great time, I would reccomend the hotel to everyone that wants to have a great time!
“1st time”
Our first time at the Melia and Puerto Vallarta. Had a great time and the trip was everything we hoped it would be.
“A nice place to stay, but better for families”
It was a beautiful resort, and the food was good and the drinks were included. The rooms were always kept up well and the beds were really comfortable. However the beach was not the nicest. You could walk down to nicer beaches though, or go to Malecon strip where it was really nice by cabbing (which was cheap as well) My only comment was it's not really good for people who want to party. Lots of children and elderly people. Otherwise the staff was good and the pool was nice. Well worth the cost.
“Beautiful open air resort”
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Melia. It is open air so very beachy and breezy. Everything is clean and well maintained except for the tiles on the pool which show wear. The room was really nice. No air conditioning is a drawback as well as the mosquitos bit me alive, we had to buy some bug repellant. The pool was beautiful as well as the beach. The sunsets were amazing. I recommend Vallarta Adventures - las coletas was wonderful. All the restaurants were great. Childcare was good but my son screamed the whole time so we couldn't leave him there :( Iguanas, birds, ducks, and fish were lots of fun for my son! Very kid-friendly, Flintstones theme. I'd say it's a 3 star level, it's an older resort, maybe 70s or 80s, but well maintained. I would definitely go back.
