We just got home from a girls trip at Contó del Sol and here are just a few notes.
The food selection was not huge, but decent quality. You get vouchers to book at the fancier restaurants for 1 out of every 2 days, I would recommend booking them as soon as you arrive, as they do book up.
The designated smoking zone is directly in front of the main sitting area, so the wind from the ocean blows all the smoke up into the main sitting area all day long.
Some of the buildings and rooms are across the street, there is a bridge connecting them, but it is a bit of a walk.
There are 3 pools, one main pool and then the other 2 pools are quite a walk away, one is across the bridge, and the other is fairly far through some hallways to another area.
Some of the grounds are a little rougher, walls and rooftops that need repairing, but they keep it clean.
All of the chairs around the pool are “reserved” with a towel by guests by 9am so you have to be out there early if you want to be by the pool.
Saturday and Sunday were extremely busy, barely any chairs to be found.
Local vendors are all over the beach in front of the resort, always coming up and showing you what they have to sell.
The staff were super nice, tipping is definitely expected, but they have great service, the drinks are made with all fresh blended fruit, security at the entrance to the resort by the beach 24/7.
Clubs are nice and close, being downtown, I would recommend Strana, just a 5 minute walk.
