The hotel is beautiful and the location is great. Food was delicious and plenty of. The restaurant nestled in the back of the property boarding the beach has an amazing view of the sunset. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. Pools and amenities are very clean. The only issue we encountered was on our last day when our rooms did not get cleaned until 3 p.m., After complaining several times to the front desk, we were told that it was priority to clean the empty rooms for their new guest. Current guest were secondary. This was very disappointing for my 80 year old parents who were tired from being out all morning and instead of resting in their room, they had to wait in lobby for 2 hours. It was also very upsetting because it was clear that guest are only significant when they check-in.

This was our first visit to both Puerto Vallarta and Buenaventura. At first we were disappointed that we opted for the honeymoon suite to celebrate our 35th anniversary. I honestly felt taken advantage of because the description stated it was overlooking the ocean. We were given room 1116 which has a tiny ocean view from the jacuzzi. Any view was impossible to see since it was blocked by the spa directly in front of our windows. To make it worse, the spa was undergoing renovations so we also had a great view of the workers hammering away. But then it got better. I talked to the front desk and they immediately apologized and fortunately there was another suite available. They moved us to the third floor and “Wow” what a difference. I have to say from that moment forward, everything went great and all the staff we came into contact with were both pleasant and helpful. The food selections were more than adequate and I tried something new each day. I would like to recognize Catherine the server at the buffet. She was extra friendly and treated us, as well as everyone else as valuable guests. The other person who we would like to mention is Dalia. Dalia is the girl who works the omelette-egg station. She treated everyone well no matter how busy she was, she always had a genuine smile. Although everyone we came in contact with was friendly, these two ladies were a pleasure to interact with. My wife and I enjoyed Buenaventura so much we are planning another visit this year.

This was our 1st time staying at GB. The hotel is clean, friendly staff, but overall good location to el malecon. What we didnt like was the view we got after paying for ocean view/honeymoon suite. In reality we got a partial ocean view & view to the public side street. This was very disappointing.the room was fine but dont false advertise if you are not going be able to provide such room.also, the buffet had long wait lines just to get a table..we enjoyed the music in the lobby and clean pools. The beach is full of rocks so its only good to sunbathe but not swim.

At first there were issues with the room, but after meeting with client services this was resolved. I found the staff to be very helpfull. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The food was great with many options. I would return to this property in the future.

Beautiful resort in a great location. Amazing staff. We were on floor one by the stairs. Quite a bit of noise in hallways at night. I brought earplugs and needed them to sleep. Food in buffet was okay, a few times it was just warm, but the egg station was great!

Great location close to the Malecon. A bit noisy at times however. Beautiful view, nice pools and very clean. Not many gluten-free options for my son who has celiac disease, but good buffet choices if you can eat everything. Snack bar at the pool was great and friendly servers ! Skybar has stunning view too.

I liked the clean accommodations, an attentive staff, and the facility was very quiet late night for a good night's rest. What I did not care for was one of the pool areas was reserved for adults only, during a stay a couple of years ago, but wasn't the case this time, so many kids running around and screaming.

Everything was excellent, the staff at the pool like Jorge and in the restaurant at night Oscar were super helpful and nice with us. Special mention to the girls at the kids club, Karla, Monse and noemily they were super nice with my kids always with a smile. The hotel itself was great, the staff was great, the location was great from downtown (El malecon). Food was ok but not great and walls/doors were thin. With that being said, I went during spring break and the room across from ours was fully of young people being loud and partying. Kept me up a few nights, not the hotels fault. Overall it was a good trip and family experience, kids club was great, staff had different activities every night, make it a week long trip and you'll see them all.

This is probably a 3.5 star property but I would round up for a few reasons. The location is very convenient if you like to wander and plan to experience PV and not just stay on property. It has been recently renovated so the property is modern and clean however it is clean for an older hotel so expect very small rooms and low ceilings but newer paint and finishes. The food is fair to good. For a mid priced AI it is probably quite good but we are more used to much higher end properties so the differences were noticeable. Liquor and drink quality was mid level - definitely not premium but I am sure there are worse. Food quality was good but don’t expect anything more than good for what it is. The staff however is very friendly and they work hard. We dodged the time share people the whole time so be warned in advance and you can do the same. I would not stay here if I planned to stay at a resort the whole time and if I intended to eat every meal on site. I am sure some people do that but it would not be my choice for that. If you instead plan to eat breakfast and maybe lunch or possibly dinner but also walk into town and eat out a meal or two each day then this is a good choice. If you don’t drink though and won’t be drinking I think you’d likely be better off at a close by property where you are not paying for something you won’t use.

We were there at 12:00 ,room not ready they said come back at 3:00 .I when they said come in 15 minutes.I go back room stil not ready.I go back at 3:45 and they are like 20 people in line.I go to explain to the other side of the counter that my husband is 86 years old and just had chemo also he have COPD and he is very tired and can’t breathe.The girl was very rude and yelled at me to go in the line.I continue to explain that my husband needs to go to sleep can you please check if the room is ready.She again pointed and yelled at me there is the line.Very unprofessional and very rude.I was waiting another 15 minutes in line until another girl give me the key.So check in was at 4:00 a whole hour late .After that the rest of the staff was very nice and helpful.The food wasn’t good,meat was burnt most of the time.The breakfast and the desserts was amazing but lunch and dinner not.We stay a week at Occidental in Nuevo and the food there was amazing!Also the hotel is very noisy.The great thing is that is so close to PV and you can walk everywhere in the town.David and the rest of the staff were great!

They only had 1 coffee urn out in the mornings, often you have to wait for coffee...or a cup, or cream, the key t6akeaway is ALWAYS WAITING. VERY NOISEY HOTEL!!! The hallways echo and guests are mostly people that never learned that you don't make noise in hotel hallways.
