“Box spring beds with aching breaking back”
So, getting to the bed n breakfast is a bit traumatic because the neighborhood is bad. Having said that, the staff is very nice and do everything they can to accommodate you including getting you ferry tickets to Culebra, Sherri is great, thank you. The bed n breakfast in general is good and would be better in a different location but the neighborhood is bad. The rooms are small but clean, no fridge, balcony with ocean view and sound of waves is nice. You can see the sun rise. The beds are terrible, like sleeping on box springs. We did not sleep a wink, very uncomfortable. Might as well have been on the floor. The bed n breakfast is located near several nice beaches, however the beach right in front of it is not suitable for swimming. There are poor homeless doggies roaming around looking for food, heartbreaking. Some rif raf walking around. I would say it's so so to walk around near the hotel and beach during the day (but not for a woman alone), once it gets dark its time to go in, I would not walk around or be out after dark. I would not recommend for families. We booked two nights but only stayed one. We were very disappointed mainly because of the hard terrible bed and also the bad neighborhood. We would have possibly overlooked some of this and drove to one of the nice beaches near by if the beds were comfortable but they were not and we could not stay another night.
“It is a very nice small hotel”
We had a very good time
“Delightful staff, delicious breakfasts, beautiful beaches”
We flew into San Juan, rented a car, and in about an hour we arrived at this small, spotless inn with friendly and helpful staff. A full moon rising over the beach confirmed it was worth the drive in the dark after a long travel day. Our room was an upstairs "deluxe" room with a good-sized balcony overlooking a "surfer" beach, so we left the sliding door open and fell asleep to the sound of waves. The bed and bathroom (shower only) were fine, there was a refrigerator, ceiling fan, and breeze. The lack of a poolwas not a problem because there's a variety of beaches with turquoise waters within walking distance. The breakfast was delicious with fruit, breads, good coffee, and a cooked to order hot choice as well. And best of all, the staff were all exceptional and helpful. It is a "green"hotel and a pleasant, not fancy, place to stay. We'd recommend it highly.
“Very friendly!”
If you want to stay at a smaller place, this is it. Surfing across the street, miles of beach to walk, friendly staff, and great breakfast!
“We will revisit Luquillo”
Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn is an excellent place to stay when visiting the East side of PR. Great location, clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly and knowledgeable staff (Maria is full of information and suggestions) . 40 min outside of San Juan ariport. Beach front view. Safe and secure. Its simple but provides all the necessities. Great restaurants at walking distance. Beach directly in front is more of a surfing beach, but a 5 to 10 min walk and you have great calm beaches. We'll go back to PR in the near future and if we stay in Luquillo, we'll check availability at the Sunrise for certain.
“Awesome Honeymoon”
My new husband and I had such a wonderful time staying here. It was easy to get to, right on the beach and secure. It was simple in decoration and amenities but right up our ally. Very clean rooms and friendly workers who spoke very good English. The breakfast was great and the same everyday. Very relaxed atmosphere would put anyone in a good mood. Some others reviewed this place as poor and nothing to do in the surrounding area, but in reality with a rental car this place is perfect. Most days we were the only tourists on the adjacent beach 50 yards from the hotel. The rain forest is about 10-15 minuets away with TONS of stuff to do and see there. The whole trip was amazing but the hotel was perfect for a home base with the sound of crashing waves to sooth you to sleep.
“basic, on the beach”
this is a lovely, albeit basic, bed and breakfast across from one of the loveliest beaches you'll find. the beach and town are quiet and not at all overrun by tourists. lots of ecotourism in area for those who are interested. hotel itself with lovely views, clean rooms, good breakfast, and good location relative to very small town. car is recommended, and there is free parking. We went with 3 children and would go back for sure.
“The view is great and thats about it.”
Nothing to say.
