This is the 5th time I have stayed at Puerto Plata Village. Although this is an older resort, I find it very comfortable. All the staff I have met/dealt with do anything in their power to make sure your stay is enjoyable and trouble free. I very much enjoy their buffet meals. I think there is something for everyone in their selections for every meal. I especially like the fact that there are resident cats there. I am an animal lover and enjoyed feeding them each time I had my own meal. This is the only resort I will stay at in the Dominican Republic and I have tried several different ones over the years. I love this resort and it feels like home to me every time I return.

We had a great time and the staff were amazing: Francis, Ruth, Carmen to just name some of them! Great food, snack bar.
Bar open until midnigjt, shows every days. Beach is small but very confi and beautiful! The buffet area is just close to the beach offering you a great view to the ocean while you enjoy your breakfast, lunch o dinner.
The only inconveniente: you can not doing laundry.
The hotel is nice...it is under renovation but still wonderful. There is a restaurant on the property and although a little pricey the food is delicious. The swimming pools are beautiful and staff mostly bilingual and helpful. Security is great ! Certainly I would stay again !
Check in was fast and smooth. Unfortunately it started to rain heavy so we made the best of it and went to the covered part of the beach bar. Then we went back to room to change for dinner. This was when we found our room was leaking in the closet. We called the front desk. Someone came immediately and assessed the situation. He said we couldn't stay there and they helped us over to a new room. The new room was very nice and the location was good.
The food was okay. I am very picky and found something at every meal. Raphael in the dining room was wonderful. Actually it's the employees that make this such a great place. From the front desk to the cleaning ladies to the bartenders and the animation staff they are great. I can n ot say enough good about them.
For the price we were more than impressed
We stayed in Block 4 on the 3rd floor with a view of the ocean. The sound of waves were present at all time. It rained two of the days we were there, but that did not stop us from having a really great time. The buffet food was very good and there was a wide selection to choose from at each meal. The individual restaurants, Gourmet and Brazilian, were outstanding, both the food and the service. We went on two tours during our stay, Jasmine Spa and City Tour. The Jasmine Spa was way out in the county and provided a very peaceful setting to receive a hour long massage. The walk around the grounds of the Spa was a great way to experience the surrounding county. We highly recommend going to Jasmine Spa. City Tours was nothing but fun. Manni was our tour guide and he was not only a great guide, but funny and entertaining. He was able to answer all questions and and mad us feel special.
