The Palace didn't start as a luxury hotel but rather a private residence. But now it is open to the public to get a glimpse of what it must be like to live like royalty! The location is ideal. The Cliff House is literally built into the ocean-side cliff. The main building (The Palace) is set back across wonderful landscaping and terraced walkways with fantastic views. A third building (the guesthouse) has 4 guest rooms as well.
This is an ideal location for a relaxing and private vacation. Meals are set out by the staff on the back porch which receives a wonderful breeze all day. Other covered porches and gazebos offer relief from the sun when needed. The pool is comfortable and refreshing. Local wildlife includes resident chickens and peacocks.
However, all of these amazing facilities pale in comparison to the tremendous staff whose only mission seems to be to pamper you and make you feel like you are the only guests in the hotel. To be fair, on two nights, we were. But the morning, afternoon, and evening staff were attentive, courteous, helpful, polite and right there whenever they were needed. The service is truly world-class--unmatched at all but the most exclusive luxury international hotels.
Details: Location on the ocean, not as some Google Maps put it in Rio San Juan. Look for the kidney-shaped pool. ATM available in town; staff will give you a ride. Get a ride from airport thru the hotel to save hassle; meal plan available at hotel too.

I spent 4 nights at this hotel at the Christmas Holiday. I really didn't know what to expect. The pictures on both Trip Advisor and Expedia do not reflect the beauty and ambience of this hotel. Everything was immaculately clean. The grounds are beautiful. The restaurant is small and RIGHT on the ocean with a fabulous view. Our room was on the first floor which was great as we could sit on our small patio and see the ocean. Manager Ted, an American from Texas, is on the property daily and very available to talk with which is always great to know that management is actually tending to business. The rooms are simple but very clean with a safe, a smalll frig and very ample bathroom. TV and internet work! Housekeeping is very good and the hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had very good food with great prices and also will bring food to you at the pool. The food was fresh and well prepared and I loved getting my morning cappucino or latte at the bar. Best thing about the hotel is the location, a 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants on the beach. Also, one block from the ATM and the grocery store which has everything you could need for snacks and even full meals. Traveling as a single woman with my two adult daughters, we felt safe even at night (early in the evening) walking to and from the restaurants on the beach. Access to the beach is easy, right on the property, and you can walk/run for several miles on the beach.

My boyfriend and I just got back from Natura. The Cabanas were gorgeous and the food at the restaraunt was amazing. Steps away from thr beach, felt like a private beach! Sounds of the ocean at night was so nice and calming. I will definitely be coming back!

We spent 5 days in Sosua (our second try). The room was facing the ocean, which with me was a prerequisite. While the hotel does not have its own beach there are two of them very close: the Sosua beach on the Saturday of our arrival was very crowded and noisy; however the Alicia beach was absolutely perfect: wide, clean, sparsely populated and with no surprises (rocks, sea urchins) in the water.
The restaurant was quite good and the staff kind and helpful.
