It's a lovely hotel with a few minor issues. The hotel is getting worn out, and they are trying to maintain the facilities but are choosing to do this maintenance during the busiest season, interfering with the quiet and relaxation. At times, we were not notified that maintenance was scheduled in our room, and then when we arrived, they were inside working, so we couldn't use our room for hours. They offered a service for the inconvenience, but it wasn't something we were interested in.
Service issues include hard butter and a need for condiments like salt and pepper. I understand this sounds petty, but when asked for these items and then never received or had to wait for 45 minutes for them, it starts to get frustrating. Many restaurants, including the Excellence Club restaurant, have long wait times between courses; however, the service can be fantastic depending on the day and the staff. This inconsistency can be frustrating. Staff is always trying to improve, but often, there is a redundancy issue when three different people ask how to improve, and then nothing gets resolved. Having been to numerous resorts I feel the while this resort and staff were trying very hard I don't believe I would return.
