This was my 3rd or 4th all inclusive and so far it's my favorite. The staff and the food being the primary reason. Other all inclusives I've been too had staff that didn't seem excited to be there and it was reflected in the service. Not an issue here. I stupidly injured myself while there and every staff that saw me asked how I was and made sure to remind me to simply ask if there was anything I needed. The first aid staff was on it as well. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The variety in the restaurants was excellent. The Indian and tapas were our favorites. We went to the tapas place twice. And there was enough variety in the lunch offerings that we didn't get too bored with what they had. Definitely some of the best food I've had at an all inclusive. Not best meals of my life by any means but damn good for all inclusive. If there was one thing I wish they had more of it was fruit. The fruit outside of breakfast was just melon (which i don't eat) and pineapple. More tropical fruits available for throughout the day wouldbe been a nice offering for snacking. Also, the pool (at least when we were there) needs way more chairs (they don't really police the whole no saving seats thing). Unless you woke up at 8 to go lay pool towels down you weren't getting a chair at the pool. It could also use a better soundtrack for a more lively atmosphere. The music was all instrumental and didn't have a lot of energy.

Absolutely my favourite resort , We have visited this resort repeatedly over the years :-) The Excellence consistently attracts and caters to a more mature, kind, considerate and respectful clientele base. A very nice change from the typical all inclusive resort filled with drunken obnoxious party animals and various other open mouth breathing degenerates .

The stay at excellence was EXCELLENT! my complaint is only with EXPEDIA, i paid for VIP access at the hotel and did get any of that upon arrival. It was a lot of money because of this and talked to 2 expedia agents that say the have no record of this. hotel said they had no record of this. BS! 1 agent put me on hold for over 30 minutes and said i would get a refund! I will not be using expedia in future as this service was horrible.

As expected great reviews indicating excellent service. The food was fantastic. Wish some of the restaurants had longer hours and/or more days to accommodate weekday only guests. Wish our swim up room 6025 had connected with the main pool but overall a fantastic stay and a fantastic resort.

It's a lovely hotel with a few minor issues. The hotel is getting worn out, and they are trying to maintain the facilities but are choosing to do this maintenance during the busiest season, interfering with the quiet and relaxation. At times, we were not notified that maintenance was scheduled in our room, and then when we arrived, they were inside working, so we couldn't use our room for hours. They offered a service for the inconvenience, but it wasn't something we were interested in. Service issues include hard butter and a need for condiments like salt and pepper. I understand this sounds petty, but when asked for these items and then never received or had to wait for 45 minutes for them, it starts to get frustrating. Many restaurants, including the Excellence Club restaurant, have long wait times between courses; however, the service can be fantastic depending on the day and the staff. This inconsistency can be frustrating. Staff is always trying to improve, but often, there is a redundancy issue when three different people ask how to improve, and then nothing gets resolved. Having been to numerous resorts I feel the while this resort and staff were trying very hard I don't believe I would return.

This was our first Excellence resort and I will surely be back. For anyone contemplating, don't hesitate! We are long time AMResort (Secrets, Breathless and Dreams) goers so I was apprehensive about the change but don't regret it. Very clean, very well maintained property. The food options for vegans is amazing, only thing I'd highlight is the hotel should hire someone to review the menus to confirm "whole food plant based"... Fish and dairy/cheese don't belong on these menus. We had amazing dinners at Basmati, Spice, Agave and the Grill. The amount of selection at the breakfast buffet is hands down the most I've seen at any resort. We didn't get lunches except for what can be brought poolside (including the pizzas!). The pool wait staff are non-stop serving! Special shoutout to Santos for his keen eye on my empty cup! The best server was Marco from Agave, very knowledgeable and very friendly! We had great service at Basmati as well but can't remember their names (sorry!). The entertainment staff do their best to get guests involved and work tirelessly all day! Shout out to Itamar, Angelo and Alejandro for keeping us entertained and involved! Great group of individuals to have some real conversations with! Will absolutely return!

Guests are loud and obnoxious, staff doesn’t help. Been verbally assaulted by another guest that was drunk and did it to others. Rusty nails on beach, plastic, cigars. Long wait times to eat dinner every time. Room service brings wrong food to room. Upon check in hotel wanted $600 deposit. Hotel claims to be adult only but saw several children in rooms around us, including pools. Have pictures.

We enjoyed staying at this property. Resort was quiet, safe, clean, and very relaxing. Food wasn’t up to my liking. They have options but non of them were that amazing. If they up their food quality I am sure they will get way more business. Rooms and amenities were great. But food is big part of my travel experience so I might not go back.

This was a first time stay ERM. Food and Staff were top notch. The drinks... Smirnoff or Sky or absolute were the vodka choices. ( secrets has stolli and kettle one ) if you upgraded to excellence club then you had multiple choices, BUT onl at the excellence club bars , not at a dinners or main pool, The resort is definitely showing age. From room , the ceiling fan blades were completely bowed down due to age and bedside stands were falling apart. Mattress in room was also tired. Staff always had smiles on their faces and service was to be expected at an upscale resort. I would upload pics but it will not let me. Beach was fine, the workers struggle with keeping up with the seaweed. ( secrets has a tractor and machine that cleans the beach every morning. All in all it was good, but secrets gets the "10" and EMR gets the "8"

Loved the nice staff and great service. The food was good quality. Would have been nice to have more night time entertainment going until 2am or at least 1am like a disco. Also, modern amenities in the rooms. Very damp rooms as well.

Everything from food to service was wonderful. Only issue we had was a banging noise that started around 4:30AM, that wouldn't stop. We learned it could be the staff and the laundry, so that didn't bother me at all.

We enjoyed our stay. Only complaints would be 1. Beach had allot of seaweed. Maybe purchase a tractor to clean everyday 2. Consider allowing reservations at restaurants as Chez Isabella had long waits. Maybe consider sending an email when table is ready 3. Staff service at most restaurants was quiet slow

Great property, we stayed there for 5 days. Food was amazing, with many restaurants to choose from as part of all inclusive. Staff were super friendly and made us felt like home. Beach was very clean and all the pools were accessible around the property. Our room was junior suite, was great only minor issue was with drainage in the shower was not working properly, the drainage issue was noted around the rest rooms in the property which requires a fix. Overall enjoyed, will definitely come again.

The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is fantastic and friendly, they go above and beyond at every opportunity. Food was exceptional at all the restaurants we tried (our favorite was The Grill). Evening entertainment was diverse and appropriate for any age group. The beach was cleaned daily of seaweed by the staff and there is enough seating for everyone. They have a wide range of activities on the properties which are all well organized and run on schedule (archery and tennis). The gym, while a bit small was also great. It has top of the line equipment and fridges stocked with water and disinfectant wipes.

The property need updated and smell in two of the rooms was awful. Luckily the manager Fernanda changed us to an upgraded room. She was the silver lining of stay. She stepped in immediately and accommodated us and went above and beyond to make us happy and she did. If it wasn’t for her we think our trip would have been unpleasant. Thanks Fernanda.
