Perfect location in Madrid. The front-desk staff were all very helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel room was large and comfortable--great value for the money. The breakfast that was included in the price was wonderful--lots of good options for any type of eater. I was very impressed with this hotel and would return there on any future trip to Madrid.

Didn't know what to expect - but we were very pleasantly surprised. For the "history" turn left at the main door - for the food, fun and shops turn right! Breakfast was great - service within the hotel was excellent

"Great place to find calm in the centre of Madrid"
Madrid is a great city. It's a busy, noisy, exciting, vibrant place to hang out for a few days. The ME Hotel is your moment of calm in the centre of all of this. The hotel staff are lovely and helpful. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated to a very high standard. Our room didn't have any decent views. instead overlooking a tiny courtyard. This was actually a blessing in disguise. Our room stayed cool throughout the day and was a peaceful haven from the noisy streets around us. If I had one area for improvement - and it's really only a small one - I'd ask for tea / coffee making facilities in the hotel room. There was a "sex kit" and a wide selection of sweets - but a good cup of tea will always win-out at the end of a long journey.
The hotel is brand new. Very nice, modern, elegant. I would recommend it to anyone.
Two big issues. the first one you feel that for anything you want you need to pay extra. For example I wanted to check the weight of my bags, you need to pay one euro per bag. If you want conditioner, you need to pay, etc.
the second thing, front desk staff, wasnt helfull at all. I ended up usign Google's travel recommendations. Also two of the 3 nights I was there the airconditioning in my room wasnt working, ask them to help, nothing happened.
This is a great "smaller" hotel right in the heart of downtown Madrid. For vacationers the location couldn't be better: just a few short blocks to the Plaza del Sol in one direction--as well as the great pedestrian mall and beyond that the Royal Palace)--and an easy walk to the museum district and the Retiro park in the other. A local Metro stop is a block away and a E5 taxi ride gets you to the Atocha station for high speed rail and the airport shuttle. The rooms are large and very well appointed and the bed is comfortable. They even had two white robes in the bathroom! Of course as in most urban European hotels the shower doesnt close and so get used to wet floors, and the streets outside, while clean and safe, are very "lively" until about 3 am 7 days a week, so ask for a room in the back and on a high floor if you are a light sleeper. The staff is very helpful and speaks English. The lobby is small but pleasant and there is a winding staircase and a nice breakfast room downstairs.
