"Great Staff + Amazing Hotel = Thoroughly Enjoyable"
Booked this wonderful chic hotel on a business trip to Athens; it was recommended by a Greek friend, who assured me I would be happy with this choice. 100% right!!
A very easy to find location; amazing staff - accommodating, courteous and friendly; plus and beautiful and considered decor all made for a much more relaxing and productive stay.
Meals were excellently presented and prepared - from breakfast in the morning with something to suit all palettes, through to evening meals and room service (well prepared and not overpriced).
I would stay here again, in fact I plan to on my return to Athens later this year.
Thank you to all the staff.
If you're looking to book a central Athens hotel that's bang in the middle of the busy city, but also comfy and friendly, then you've definitely got the right one here. Easy to find, including big signs if you're walking up towards it from the Monastiraki Underground (that we'd got into town from the Airport), then it's out there easily.
Once there with a late check-in, they were informative and our room was a good small size, with everything you need in there, including a very lovely shower unit complete with your classic soaps and shower gels.
We'd recommend - if possible - to request a room up higher as you'll get a view of the Acropolis on one side of the hotel and also there's a really cool fruit market on the front, which, if you're new to travelling might seem a little bit different but we loved it, full of locals, fresh fruit and atmosphere and actually the reason I booked here. Get involved!
Oh, also check out their Roof Top Bar which gives you a fantastic, full panorama of Athens and is utterly unique in that respect. Kostas running the Bar on the two occasions we went up there was also happy to share advice on things to do if it's a short trip. Great Hotel!

If you want a holiday full of exploration into amazing history, Economy Hotel has the perfect location for it. A short walk down the road will let you discover the view of the Acropolis. You can take it in while having coffee and refreshments. Monastiraki metro station is less than 1km away with direct line to the airport. Central markets are very close, so you can buy fresh fruit & veggies to compliment your continental brekkie. The Agora and Hadrian's Library are also within easy walking distance. Terrific experience overall :-)

Outside isn't nice but the hotel is nicely hidden. I stayed next door at first at a hotel that was just ok but was beautifully surprised when i switched into the Chic Hotel. The bed were super comfortable and they had nice slippers as an added bonus. The staff helped me get my luggage to my room and they had a weighing station in the lobby to check ny luggage for my flight. It's close to the metro and the free WiFi was great. Everything was amazing! !
Arrived midnight. The taxi driver commented he did not like our hotel. A great start. We knew it was budget but were not prepared for the war zone look of the street - Graffiti everywhere. But we were greeted by a pleasant receptionist and then went to our room on the top floor - no lift. We booked several moths prior and asked for a quite room. It was but the bathroom was rediculously small - picture a toilet with a side basin and a shower rose/outlet in the space between the door and the toilet. You showered virtually over the toilet. We went straight to bed and complained the next morning. The first response we got was "hey this is a one star hotel". Well we were aware of that but expected a shower recess at least. We were later offered another room which was bigger and had a "normal" bathroom layout. It was on the street front, 3rd floor so much noise, but this was the only choice offered so we took it.
This is a well located hotel and if you are on a budget, go for it. Just stand your ground if you have too. They offer a 6Euro buffet breakfast at a 3 star hotel about 200m down the road which we found to be very good. Monastiraki metro station is within 5 mins walking distance and we used it to get to Piraeus to catch the ferry to Mykonos. No hassles getting a ticket from the machines and only 1.20Euro each. Took only about 15 mins to get their. It is the terminus so no way of getting lost. You walk out of the station and follow the crowd via cafes to ferries.

Once an area of leather tanning workshops, Psirri was transformed a few years back to make it Athens’ prime nightspot. Packed with an ever-growing range of bars, tavernas, and dance clubs, it offers mainstream entertainment. Several Latin and Oriental-themed bars add the spice. Psirri lives after dark, though the nearby Central Market is worth a look in by day.
