"Very nice but...."
Loved the hotel and the staff, but.........we were placed on the 3rd floor and there was no elevator for 2-60 yr. old women to haul our belongings to our room. We ended up getting the maintenance man to help out and gave him a very generous tip. The breakfast each morning was very good plus after a day of walking to and from downtown (which was a haul) I looked forward to the cold water in the lobby flavored with fresh fruit. The room with 2 full size beds was very tight with one bed being right next to the air conditioner which was my bed so I had covers on every night while my roommate did without. The rooms were clean and equipped with a nice size refrigerator/freezer, single serve coffee pot and microwave. We also thought the accommodations were quite pricey. In all we enjoyed our stay and may return as long as we can get a 1st floor king room.

"Quiet location with great waterfront ambiance"
The Masthead is an eclectic assembly of waterfront rooms and cottages, and no two are alike. Located in Provincetown's quiet West End, it is far away from any sources of food or drink with the exception of the very fine (and expensive) Red Inn, so be prepared to walk, bike, or cab for anything outside of the room except hanging out on the deck or in the water. The highlight of the location is the massive tidal flat in front of the rooms that goes on nearly forever at low tide. You can walk out on that exposed sand flat for the better part of a mile if you so desire, and there are many treasures to discover. The rooms are exactly as represented on the internet, and as this is our third time there we have worked our way up the food chain. You get what you pay for in terms of views and room size/amenities, which is fair and in general the Masthead provides a very good value for the area. The location is somewhat weather sensitive (if it rains you will need a car, a cab, or good foul-weather gear). Parking is limited and tight, but adequate. Most guests are mature couples of all kinds, with the occasional lucky young family. Families with teenage kids may do better elsewhere as there is little for teenage kids to do on location. We like the quiet ambiance and great presence of the water right at your door - if you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway on the water and are willing to walk a bit for food and entertainment you will enjoy your stay at The Masthead

"A low profile gem"
We loved this place! It's an old-style motel directly across the road from Cape Cod Bay, with a stunning view. The place has been completely renovated within the last few years, and has a cool, minimalist design. The restaurant was very good. Going to the (beautiful) bay beach entails nothing more than crossing the road. The staff was friendly and helpful, and Keith and Armand, who manage the place, were a joy to hang out with as they ran the pool bar. Both were also very helpful with information about Provincetown, things to do and to avoid, etc. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from the heart of town, and a local shuttle bus stops in front every half hour or so, if you want to avoid the hassle of parking in town. I'd recommend getting a bay-front room, even though the others have larger balconies with chairs, etc., because of the amazing view.

"Very nice quiet property in Provincetown"
Seaglass is an older property that has undergone an extensive renovation: The room decor and furnishings are all new, there is a small spa on the property, the pool area and grounds have been beautifully updated. It's located far enough away from the crowds and noise of Commercial St, but still a short walk (and there is an electric shuttle vehicle that will take you into town if you wish). The staff was always friendly and accommodating, and even on one of the busiest weekends of the year the property never seemed crazy busy. Overall it was excellent value for money-I'd highly recommend.

"great bed and breakfast"
Great hosts, very friendly and helpful. All guests were willing to intereact with others at breakfast. Breakfast included freshly cooked eggs but no pancakes or french toast options. Daily cookies or cakes baked for afternoon snacks. The Inn and its grounds are charming, close to most galleries, two food markets/delis and one block to beach. Quiet location at night and parking for car. Good mix of clientele. If you like B&Bs Cooke Inn will not dissapoint you.

"Our mini vacation"
I would give this hotel a 4 star rating for sure. The hotel staff that we dealt with were friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself is huge with many many amenities and things to do. We'd love to come back sometime more towards the end of June when the season is in full swing and the weather is better. The room we had was clean and the kitchen was stocked with what would be needed for cooking and eating etc. Dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans etc.... The only thing we weren't real thrilled with was the bed in the private bedroom. We didn't need to use the pull out sleepers so I can't speak about them. The sofas themselves were very comfortable. All in all, a very nice place to stay and not to far from the main area of Provincetown.
