“I would stay here again”

My 15 yr. old son and I stayed here for 3 nights during the recent MLG championships. Our room was on the 6th Floor and very quiet. The beds were VERY comfortable. It's just around the corner from the mall and convention center. I rented a car, but honestly, I could have just taken the hotel shuttle because they take you to the mall and that whole area which is probably less than a mile away. I would definitely stay here again. Oh, yeah. The breakfast buffet was great and the bar/lounge was very comfortable.

“Blueberry Pancakes to die for!”

Hotels in Providence were completely sold out. One day before we needed it, a cancellation must have opened up a room at the Marriott and we were glad to have it despite the scalper's price for the room. It's a basic Marriott. It had one huge upside: someone in the kitchen turns out the BEST blueberry pancakes I have ever had! Perfectly cooked with fresh blueberries. It's hard to find. One downside: housekeeping took all our carefully hung up towels and never replaced them. So much for "environmental concerns" and upsetting to discover when time is of the essence on the morning we left to have no towels for our showers! They sent us some, but critical time was lost. Decent restaurant which came in handy because both Brown U and RISD were having reunions and every restaurant in town except the Marriott's was booked solid. Thank you, Marriott.

“Great place, a little better than you'd expect from a chain”

We just stayed one night, but we were very happy. It seemed like they tried to make a plain chain just a little more like a boutique hotel. It was a nice effort! The bed and room were very comfortable. Would go back!

“graduation in Providence”

The hotel was nice. It was amazing to have an inside and outside pool connected - you could swim outside at night and see the sky. The decor in the hotel and lobby was neat and impressive. Only compliant - the bathroom went could be a little stronger. His hotel had free parking that apparently is not that obvious in other hotels. We liked the stay. We went for our daughter graduation and enjoyed it. At next visit we'll definitely stay at the same place.t

Area recommendations

We stay in the area around Convention Center it was nice. We also visited Cape Code - drove all the way to Provincetown. A nice beach side town....

“Nice Hotel in Providence”

Nice hotel. A little pricey, but worth it. Only down side is that they don't offer wireless internet in the rooms. Make sure to bring an ethernet cable or a wireless card if you're planning on getting any work done in your room.

“Sub par experience”

Though I'm a loyal fan of the Marriot brand, this experience will make me hesitate about staying at another Marriot anytime soon. The room reaked of room spray when we first entered - and after the haze died down, I realized the spray was intended to mask a terrible mildew scent that permeated the room. There was only 1 bath towel for 2 people, which is forgiveable as they quickly delivered extras (4! how about just 2 to start with?), but the noise level of the guests down both sides of our hallway that night was unbearable. Loud, screaming guests drinking beers out of coolers in the hallway during the evening, lead to even louder groups of drunken guests yelling outside our door at 2:00am. It was more than 30 minutes before the hotel brought the situation under control, which was too late to change my mind. Will not stay here again.

“Fantastic Hotel!”

This hotel has a beautiful lobby with a gift shop and restaurant. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed. The only complaint is its proximity to downtown. Parking is free here to it might be worth the 5-10 min walk to "downtown". We made the walk at night and felt safe. It really is a quick walk that goes by a river and a park. If you want to save money for parking and don't mind walking a few minutes then this hotel is absolutely perfect!

“Very nice hotel stay for a very reasonable price”

Very friendly staff, clean and updated facilities/rooms, beautiful pool area. Would definitely stay there again, it was a great location and great overall experience at a very reasonable price.
