“Stay away, unless you love the noisiest place on the planet”

No parking in front of the hotel to check in. Had to park on street an lug my stuff thru rain and snow--- and do the same when i left, plus getting a valet charge to boot. Desk receptionist was friendly, but when i came downstairs to complain about the noise in the adjacent room... he said oh, thats my room. The noise didnt stop. This hotel floors ( all walk up rooms) are COMPLETELY white tile- so you can imagine how the noise travels. The worlds largest air conditioning/air exchange system was right outside my window. The suite was nicely equipped in the kitchen, but the mattress was torn , and there were no extra pillows or blankets. A totally unsatisfactory experience. Some great italian eateries and other restaurants in the area...but stay somewhere else.

“"if you're looking for a cheap place to crash..."”

This place is good for a one time overnight visit, but otherwise it's not the most comfortable place in the world.

“Fun neighborhood & food all around. Nice to have couch in kitchen to hang out. Rooms need color.”

Fun neighborhood & food all around. Nice to have couch in kitchen to hang out. Rooms need some color art to tone down the stark white.

“Great if you know what you're getting”

This hotel is in the heart of Providence's Little Italy. The tiny, one way streets are paved with brick and restaurants and nightclubs are jammed in together. The hotel opens onto a plaza and it can be a challenge to find where to put your car while you check in (you are supposed to leave it in an alley in the back and someone will find a legal parking place for it). It is a very convenient location perhaps for an energetic couple who want to take in the neighborhood. As we weren't there for the neighborhood it wasn't as convenient for us. The room we had was a stark modern white. It was not a neutral white. My daughter and I felt it was too cold and not welcoming but it was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The staff were courteous, friendly, and professional. The hotel owns several restaurants and gave us good coupons to eat in them.

“A very cool place.”

The Dolce Villa is a very cool place. It's on Federal Hill just minutes from downtown Providence. We were treated well, and it was wonderful to have a full kitchen and Jacuzzi bath. Very enjoyable!

Area recommendations
Downtown Providence, near Trinity Rep. Federal Hill, and the area near Brown University.
Dining
We enjoyed Cuban Revolution and the restaurants on Federal Hill
Events and shows
Waterfire is wonderful, as is Trinity Repertory Company. Much to do and see in this city.

“Wonderful spot in perfect Federal Hill location”

My daughter and I were traveling to Providence for her Providence College Orientation. I looked on Expedia, which is what I usually do first, and immediately saw Dolce Villa. We had wanted to explore Federal Hill, anyway, and as it was at a great rate and recommended so highly by others, I made the reservation. Service could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. They gave us a room with a balcony over DiPasquale Square and we watched happy diners and a wonderful jazz band into the evening. We loved everything about our experience and I made another res for when we return at the end of August.

“Kind of cold...”

The hotel is well located if you are interested in Italian dining. It is not at all a cozy place though - the white only scheme is 'modern' but the floors are all tile and there is little warmth to the place. It was clean but smelt of cleaning product unfortunately. Without luggage the trip to the third floor is fine for a normally fit person but the three flights were hard to manage without an elevator or without any offer of help when carrying 2 suitcases and bags. If you intend to stay in Providence for a few days the kitchen would be useful as it is fully equipped which could save money on meals. It was fine - though not a destination certainly!

“Little Italy at its best”

Accomodations were as described. Hotel staff were very helpful and knowledgable about the area and all that is available. They were always willing to answer questions and meet any needs. This would be great for families.

“Great Italian Area”

The hotel was very clean. And agreeing with some of the reviews the furniture is alittle sparse. The rooms are very clean concidering that everything is white and it would show any dirt or spot. The kitchens are as big as some apartment kitchens. The rooms are fairly quiet. The staf was very helpful answering any questions about what to see or where to eat. We ate next door at their restaurant and it was very very good. It was so good we had breakfast their the next morning. The directions for finding the place are alittle hard but we stopped and asked directions from a nearby valet. When you arrive, park behind the hotel and go in the rear entrance. Federal Hill is very full of cars and people but not much parking. So the $15 to have the hotel park and take care of the cars was a bargain. We didnt need our car because there was plently to do right in the neighborhood area. We plan on going back next year.

Area recommendations
