Hampton Inns are generally consistent for comfort, and this property was no exception.
However, there was an odd, mechanical smell in the entry and corridor of main floor rooms (not in the room, thank goodness) — sort of a mixture of diesel and machined metal. I’m very sensitive to smells; it was there when we arrived and when we checked out the next day.
We stayed at a Hampton Inn in Dobson, NC the week prior, and the breakfast was far superior to this location. Here, the oatmeal was undercooked and watery, and the ‘sausage’ was fried lunch meat.
On the plus side, check-in was easy and quick, and all staff was courteous, friendly, and efficient.
