We stayed two nights which included a full English buffet breakfast which was excellent, we also dined in the restaurant and again, we were very pleased with the service and quality.
We benefited from some lovely weather so we spent a lot of time on the bar patio area and also around the front grounds of the hotel, which were all very well maintained and attractive.
We would not hesitate to return for another visit in the future.
What a treat! The room we had was lovely - it was really big and so clean, with a big en-suite bathroom and a shower to die for! The standard of decor, both in the room and throughout is top notch, there's obviously a great attention to detail from everyone here. All of the staff / managers were lovely. The only thing we were a little confused with was that it isn't really clear who to see when checking in and when eating in the evening - this is done at the bar. We saw a few confused people, but overall it's not such a problem when you get the hang of it. You should eat in the restaurant as the food is really good too. - top marks to the chef.
We had a wonderful stay and definately recommend you go - we will be going back.

We stayed at the hotel for a single night and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was superb. The only downside was the lack of a bath in our bathroom. However, the other facilities were great. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
As a frequent business traveller who automatically booked Premier Inn, I needed a change. This hotel was perfect. First of all it was cheaper overall, although the food was more expensive (justifiably so) the room rate was cheaper. I did not have breakfast so I can't rate that. The rooms were comfy and again more "upmarket" than the Premier Inn rooms, they also had free wired or wireless internet. The staff were extremely pleasant and there was even the opportunity to go to the gym (maybe next time).

For a hotel predominantly serving business customers and motorway drivers I was pleasantly surprised at how good our overall experience was especially given some of the reviews. Six very dirty walkers in three twin rooms on a busy Saturday night were made very welcome. Customer service from all staff was excellent. Food, both dinner and breakfast was good for hotel fare, reasonably priced and fresh. Rooms were of a good standard and having a bath as well as a shower was just the ticket. Staff were quick off the mark when a brief power cut in one room interrupted a long soak.
Only two small negatives: one room was exceedingly hot even with window open and no radiator on and the wine was ridiculously expensive for some fairly mediocre bottles. Other than that a good nights stay and excellent preparatiopn for another days lonmg walk.
"Superb family-run hotel, comfortable and relaxing"
Although there was an event on when we arrived, the car park is ample and had many spaces. Reception is a relaxed area where we were given excellent attention and provided with all the information we needed for a good stay. Our room was of a good size with a window onto the garden/function area and a sofa. The room had a fridge and the usual refreshment facilities. Fresh local milk was provided in a fridge in the corridor. The television had all main sky channels and was straightforward to use. We used the swimming pool on Sunday morning, which is a great facility as non-guest cannot use it. The only downside to using the pool was that the water was cold. Check-out was quick. We also visited their family garden centre a few miles up the road. Hotel guest can claim a free drink at the garden centre. It is definitely the best garden centre I have ever been to. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.
Well located. Great service. Wonderful breakfast. Really enjoyed my stay and I intend on staying at the Holiday Inn when I next visit Preston.
The only downside I can envision is the size of the car park. It is a bit small, but I didn't rent a car, so it didn't effect me. I walked from the train station to the hotel and walked everywhere I needed to go in Preston.
