“Terrific experience”
This is a lovely hotel. Totally individual, there is nothing corporate about it at all. The decor is in the style of 50s,60s & 70s, it is a feast for the eyes. The rooms and bathrooms are individually styled. Visitors are provided with bath robes, slippers, safe, tv, dvd player and laptop. The buffet breakfast is excellent and you also have a choice of freshly cooked hot dishes. (French toast with berries and creme fraiche is delicious!) The staff are young and smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is situated in a quiet street in the Lesser Town about 10 mins from the Castle and 5 mins from Charles Bridge. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. If you are travelling by public transport, it is not far from the tram stop but may be a bit tricky to find.
“A great little find...”
My wife and I stayed four nights at the beginning of September for a short holiday. We arrived after a bad journey from the airport but the friendly reception and hotel style immediately cheered us up. The 50s/60s/70s design theme works really well and it's a hotel to photograph - an experience in it;s own right. The room we had was moderate in size but very well equipped and very clean. The hotel doesn't do dinner but has a dining room where breakfast is served - excellent range with buffet style continental breakfast; some hot items and waitress service for coffee/tea and hot breakfasts - no need to go out into Prague hungry here! The staff were all very friendly and helpful with adequate English and good advice. We're looking forward to going back!
“Relaxed & Low-Key”
A nice, professionally-run hotel. Very relaxing & quiet, with friendly staff. The hotel is in a beautiful location. I just wish the idyllic bar across the road had had more consistent opening-hours!
“That is one of the best hotel i've stayed in”
Definitely coming back next time in Prague. Rooms comfortable (even if on the patio), really good decor, good selection for breakfast and you cannot be located better in prague: close to all main attractions, yet in a calm street with no noise. Plus a laptop in your room, dvds to rent, sauna for those who are unlucky with the weather (not my case fortunately). 10 out of 10 for me.
“Excellent hotel in nice quiet part of time”
This is quite a cool little hotel situated away from the hordes of tourists. Very welcoming staff at reception. The room was excellent well kitted out with free internet wired to the in-room laptop! There was no wireless available as far as I could tell. The rooms were in excellent condition and bathrooms modern. Breakfast was typical continental fare but located in a really funky room. Would definitely recommend this hotel to couples and even business travellers. Not sure its suitable for younger families.
“A lovely, quirky hotel”
Just returned from a 5 day stay at the Hotel Sax in Prague and I can definitely recommend it. The location is good if you want somewhere in easy walking distance to the main sights (10 minutes from the Charles Bridge) but away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. It also felt very safe with the US embassy down the road and the strong security presence they had. We had a deluxe room, which was an adequate size, clean and comfortable. The only slight downside was that the beds were a little firm for me, but I requested an extra duvet to sleep on (and provide a bit of extra padding) which was dealt with immediately and without a fuss. The staff were always friendly and efficient. The little things really made the stay, like the free laptop in the room which was helpful in finding good restaurants and the like. We also made good use of the DVD player in the room and the 2000 strong DVD library, although at times it was fun trying to work out what the film was if the cover was in Czech! Food wise I have no complaints either. There was a good selection for breakfast, particularly for the hot meals that they cooked to order. The complimentary afternoon tea was also a nice touch that we made use of most days. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again.
“A wee cracker”
Wondered if the deco might have been a bit too much but it was great. Loved this hotel and the staff helped to make our stay a very enjoyable one. The afternoon tea was a nice touch too. Loved Prague and the fact that everything was within easy walking distance. This hotel was in a great location up near the castle.
“Perfect Prague Hotel”
The views from the rooms were amazing, location was in Mala Strana which was walking distance to everything, service from front desk, maids & waiters were excellent. We got free internet during our stay. The breakfast was delicious. I loved this hotel & strongly recommend it.
