“Can't Wait to go Back”

I visited the Hotel Ventana with my husband during the first / second week of December. We had a great time. The Hotel couldn't be better placed for visiting the Christmas Markets and Prague Old Town, yet it is surprisingly quiet at night. Our room was lovely, looking towards the Christmas Market in the Square. Breakfasts were a splendid buffet which we really looked forward to. We found all the staff very helpful during our stay. We'll definitely return, hopefully in September 2012. Definitely five stars in our book!

Area recommendations
Prague Old City is a must. The Christmas Markets and the architecture are really great. Everywhere else of interest, including the Castle, are within reasonable walking distance (and we are in our 60s!). It is a photographer's dream.

“Excellent”

The hotel was perfectly situated around the corner from the Old Town square. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff were brilliant - couldn't do enough for you. The breakfasts were superb. Access to internet for free.

“Top hotel”

We were most satisfied with the Ventana. Our room was large and well appointed, views out to the old town square and over the church next door, and very reasonably priced given the location. The Ventana is only a minute or so's walk from the town square but manages to be very quiet as well. We would highly recommend it.

“Great Decision”

“"Great Decision"” What a great place to stay, handy to the old market square (2 mins), easy safe walk to alot of historic points. Little convenience store 3 doors down, the included breakfast was a 5 star, staff were english speaking & very helpful. Czech restaurant "Staromacek"on Dlouha 4 Street at Old Market Square was excellent...potatoe soup & large salad ! Got to do it! Ventana reviews were accurate and influenced our decision. Significant better value and location than the Prague Hilton. Cheers....David & Gwen

You can get to all major sites with comfortable safe walking....have good walking shoes!! Just a wonderful historic city (day & night)!

“Wonderful with amazingly helpful staff”

This hotel is in a great location and the staff are incredibly helpful. On our first night I asked if there was a place to dine the receptionist could recommend and he booked us into a wonderful place close by. Take the time to chat to the staff if you aren't sure on where to visit or to eat and you won't regret it. Very clean and in a beautiful location. Would recommend to anyone visiting.

Area recommendations
The Old town square was our favourite place to visit and is considerably large, we spent 4 days there without growing of it. Would also recommend the walk along the bring to the high castle and parliment building.
Shopping
If you're going to visit with your wife or girlfriend, be sure to take charge of the money otherwise you may wake up one day to find she has spent all your crowns of swarovski crystal necklaces and run of with the Italian ice cream vendor Hugo.
Dining
Avoid dining directly within the town square as food as slightly more expensive (and busy), especially when a mere 5 minutes walk in either direction will get you more for your money. There is a restaurant called the Blue Rose (in English, can't remember the Czech) which isn't cheap, but is a wonderful introduction into Czech fine dining. I'd also recommend avoiding any restuarants which are in cellars or back alleys (we were ripped off one night after being led to a place). Instead czech out the food and how popular the restuarant is before dining.

“Location, location, location.”

The location of this hotel is excellent, short walking distance to all sightseeing of old Prague. Rooms are specious and bright. Breakfast is good but not great. Hotel staff is very helpful and attentive. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending this hotel, very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

“Great location.”

Perfect place to be for everything. Staff kind and helpful. Rooms good size but need to be ungraded or cleaner. Bedding no so nice. But the location was amazing and the overall experience was lovely.

“superb experience”

I stayed at the Ventana for a week earlier this month. The hotel is right off the main square, but not noisy. The building is beautiful. My room was huge and very comfortable. The service was excellent. I had a wonderful stay there and I hope to go back very soon.

“Simply excellent”

Excellent location, just off Old Town Square but surprisingly quiet. We had an attic room on two floors, which was first class - comfortable and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast couldn't have been better, a lot of choice, well presented, and all very tasty. I would certainly use this hotel again and recommend it to everyone.

Area recommendations
The Old Town Square area and the Castle area are fascinating, full of interesting architecture, lots of history and many restaurants and shops.

“Excelent location and quality.”

I went through a lot of hotels online before going to Prague and focused on the location and the quality as it was suppose to be a romantic time. I have been in the past in Prague and made some poor decisions before. Based on many comments and reviews I came to book hotel Ventana and it turned out to be exactly as described. Clean spacious room with good service and the perfect location right in the old town square. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to everybody. The price was good compared to many other places I have seen with worse room or worse quality. Medium cost, great quality, excellent service, perfect location.

Area recommendations
Old Town because of architecture and walking distance to all interesting places. Being right in the center allows to walk around at night and admire the city being also close to the hotel. No need for taxi.
Getting around
Watch out for thiefs. Tourists should be cautious about their purses and cameras, as in keeping an eye on them. BEWARE of money exchange places... many tourist were ripped off by getting a different exchange rate then agreed on during transaction. RECOMMEND exchanging money in a bank with a normal exchange rate. Not the small places 'special rate' or 'good deal'. They rip off tourists really bad with money on the streets.
Dining
Watch out for high prices and waiters adding extra items to the bill. Be smart and ask questions when in doubt. They do speak English but sometimes tend to not speak it when there are problems with tourists.
Nightlife
Old town Prague is beautiful at night. Recommend going for a walk.
