Great location

Posted 02-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
The Charles hotel is in the better part of town. There are lots of restaurants and the Charles bridge and Prague castle are only a short walk away. The staff was very helpful with answering all our questions and printing our boarding passes. The rooms and bathrooms were average. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect location.

Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast
Location: "Everything" is close to this hotel.
Having visited Prague 5 times prior to this stay, I knew what I wanted. This hotel was exactly what I wanted for the price I was willing to pay. I will stay here again. Location - the location is perfect. The hotel is located on the first block directly after the Charles Bridge on the Castle side. This allow for ideal access to both sides of the bridge and all of the major attractions. Comfort and Size - the room is average for Prague concerning size. It is considerably larger than most European rooms and has a separate area for luggage (like a vestibule). The Room was also comfortable and nicely updated while still maintaining its historic charm. Breakfast - The food was fine. Not a large selection compared to bigger hotels, but certainly adequate. If you are used to a big breakfast, this will disappoint. Noise - The hotel is a little noisy at night (outside that is). The walls seem to be thinner for interior noise as well. Your are not located above a bar or anything, so the noise is not all night. I always use earplugs, so again this did not bother me at all.

I chose The Charles because I wanted stay somewhere with the character of the old world charm the photos online indicated. My room was absolutely gorgeous, with a high, painted wooden ceiling and lots of space. The breakfast was tasty, but served in a musty basement. I thought this would be cool, but found the smell very unappetizing. The location was good for sights on the Hradcany side of the river. You can walk to many of the sights. As well, there is a tram station one block over and a metro station about the equivalent of three blocks away.

BIRTHDAY TRIP TO PRAGUE

Posted 13-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
The Charles iswithin a couple of hundred metresof Charles Bridge and in an excellent position for sightseeing. The hotel was very comfortable, without being plush and the service was good. Somewhat noisy on the Friday and Saturday as a result of the weekend revellers though we were pretty tired so it didn't have any great impact. All in all we were very satisfied and would stay here again

Lovely hotel close to all of the main sights

Pros: Location, staff and value for money
Location: Close to all main sights
This is a lovely, clean hotel close to all of the main sights in Prague. 200m from the Charles Bridge, in the shadow of the castle and a short walk from the Old Town Square. Lovely, spacious rooms and helpful staff made our stay all the more special

EXCELLENT LOCATION!

Posted 05-Feb-2014
Pros: The Staff, breakfast, location and price.
Cons: A little brighter inside rooms and hallways.
Location: Excellent location. Resturaunts, shops, sightseeing.
I arrived in Prague early morning and was pleasently surprised at the perfect location of The Charles Hotel. I was greeted by a young lady who spoke perfect english and my room was immediately waiting for me. It was on the top floor and nice and quite. The breakfast was not your typical "european style" they had eggs, bacon, sausauge etc., plus lunch meats, cheeses cereal etc. It was quite good and filling. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Their resturaunt recommendations were great (and resonably priced) I returned the the Bedesa Bar/Pub 3 times for the food (not to mention the beer) The waiter suggested I try Kozel, which is a light lager and absolutely fantastic! The spicy goulash was out of this world. When I return to Prague I will not hesitate to stay at the Charles. Again, excellent staff, perfect locations for dining, sight seeing and several little markets close by for snacks, beer, whatever.

ideal location

An ideal location close to the Charles Bridge in a quiet area. the hotel is very comfortable with a great buffet breakfast. The receptionist staff Darjea and Petra are very helpful and more informative and knowledgable than the tourist office nearby at the bridge. Our room was spacious and clean.,The tram no 22 is around the corner and runs every few minutes, it is one stop to the metro Malostrada.I would definitely stay here again.
