“Convenient Location”
We desired a hotel within easy access to the main train station ans walking distance to the city centre. Tis hotel delivers both at a reasonable price.
“A great base for sightseeing”
We visited Prague in November, choosing Hotel Falkensteiner. An excellent base. Good in every regard. Located in a smart city-building. Seven floors served by 2 efficient lifts. Our en-suite double-room was a decent size, and included a proper shower-cubicle, hair-dryer, TV, mini-bar, wardrobe with hangers, and variable-heating. The self-service buffet-breakfast was presented in a duplex, the lower level being a cosy vaulted-cellar. The food was excellent: everything from Continental to full-English. The hotel itself is set on the corner of Opletalova & Ruzova, in a safe quiet area just doors away from two quaint restaurants and a tiny police office. It's only 3 mins walk to Wenceslas Square, that being a great place to start sightseeing. Whilst much is available in that Square, the principal sights of either New Town or Old Town can then be reached in 30 mins easy dawdle. Or, 30 mins brisker walking will see you across Charles Bridge into Lesser Town and even to the start of the Castle district. Trams are everywhere, if you should need the help! One adverse comment: our room was affected by noise. Low-level, but constant. From an array of air-conditioning plants that festoon the lower-walls of the hotel's inner quadrangle. But this is simply a comment, not a criticism which would mean a lower score for the hotel, because the noise is negated by simply shutting the window at night. Full marks to this hotel. We wouldn't hesitate to use it again.
“Great location but…”
The Hotel is very well located, near the main railway station and not far from the old town and the Wenceslas square. I had booked a deluxe room but it was extremely small and not comfortable at all. The breakfast was very good with a large variety, and the hotel provides free internet access.
“Very Nice Hotel, great location”
We stayed in this beautiful hotel during our Eurotrip by car. They have a parking available, which is not common in Prague.
“Really good hotel, next to train station and city center”
We stayed at this hotel for two days and were really pleased with everything. This almost look like a real 5 star hotel, although it claims itself as 4. Rooms were spacious and with a zen-style decoration, clean and always with a nice smell. Reception staff were always willing to help you, from getting indications to get around the city up arranging a rental car for you. The best was the breakfast. REALLY good, everything you need was there. Loved it. The only critic I would make to the hotel is the entrance.. it's not very nice to carry heavy luggage through the entrance stairs. Although the elevator was big enough, entering into the hotel gave me some bitter experience. But all concerns disappeared when I enjoyed the amenities.
“Gd Money to Spend”
after 14hr train frm Amsterdam to Prague... 5mins walk thro the park to left... easy to access... auto-door... quick check in... big enough lift to carry me two and luggages... spacious room... wifi... street view via window... instant warm water... electrical coffee machine to make cappucino in the morning... 10mins walk to metro... gd place to stay in prague with gd money
“I will come back with friends. Excellent value.”
Excellent value for money. Conveniently located to metro and Wenseslaw Square. We were warmly received. Staff were helpful for sure. We will go back.
“So So”
I wouldn't stay at this hotel again because there are many more hotels in Prague that are more comfortable and in better locations. The price was more than the hotel experience warranted. I think there are better deals out there. My biggest disppointment was the breakfast. I have had many European-style buffet breakfasts and this was the worst. The scrambled eggs were cold and mushy and the boiled eggs had been done a day or two before and where cold from refrigeration. The ambience of the hotel was cold and unwelcoming. I would like less modern decor and a more traditional homey inn feel.
“Can' wait to go back”
Very impressed by the quality of this hotel. Art deco, modern and quiet athmosphere. Very clean.
“A useful hotel in Prague”
The Falkensteiner Hotel Maria Prague is very conveniently located an easy walk from all the major attractions in Prague (10 minutes to Old Town Square and 30 minutes to the Castle 'walking steadily uphill!') . The hotel is very comfortable and the buffet breakfast is excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant. It snowed whilst we were there and made out Christmas market visit even better. Three days was insufficient to see all the attractions and we will make a second visit to finish off around springtime so that we can see the gardens and parks and perhaps some of the surrounding areas.
