“Basic Hotel but Satisfactory”
We asked for a room with three single beds which they confirmed. We actually got a twin room with a chair bed which was very uncomfortable! The bathroom was clean but the shower was only a hand held shower. The room was large enough but a little dusty. We were on the top floor so it was relatively quiet and the room had air conditioning. The TV in the room didn't work though. The free wifi is a little hit and miss. The breakfast was adequate with a choice of cold meat, cheese, eggs and sausage, lots of different breads, juice, fruit, tea and coffee. They have a small garden at the back which was nice to sit in and we took our coffee outside in a morning. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful. They organised our airport transfers for 680 Cz each way. The hotel is a good 15 min walk to the centre but there is a metro station at the end of the street which is easy to use. The tram stops are close too. If you want a hotel to just use as a base for sight seeing then it is fine but if you are wanting to spend time in your hotel I would choose one with a better star rating and more facilities.
“Good quality, affordable, and only minor drawbacks”
The room was clean and decent sized, and the price was very affordable. There is air conditioning and heating in the rooms, and also internet access. The only drawback to the room was that the elevator is fairly loud, and it was near my room so I could hear it easily as people came and went. On occasion the staff wasn't there to answer questions, but once I reached them, they were very helpful. The location is good.... near a major shopping area and only one block from a metro station. Overall I would rate this as a very good place to stay if you're visiting Prague.
“You get what you pay for!”
In a nutshell... you get what you pay for. The hotel is conveniently located, near the National Museum and the Main Train Station. Our room was on the 5th floor in a building located left to the reception. Fortunately we were not located in a room facing the avenue so noise was not an issue for us. We had Wi-Fi in our room and thanks God I read some comments from fellow travellers that recommended bringing your own shampoo and bathing soap (all you are going to get from the hotel is a tiny bar of soap!). The room was not new but overall clean. One area in which there is potential to improve is staff friendliness, in particular the Man in the front desk. I did not like that the very first thing he told me was "I hope you have a reservation...", I mean, you can say hello, how can I help you or something else and not something to let me know in a rude way that the hotel is packed... especially if you do not even know what I want!
“SUPERB SPOT”
We will be back in Summer Excellent location
“Terrible hotel. Do not stay here.”
The travel experience was terrible because of the hotel. The hotel is a horrible place and reeks of very very low cost hostel accommodations. The rooms are dirty and smelly. You can see the dust settled on everything and moss lining the panels. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The only saving grace was that we would be sleeping in it for only 2 nights. The bathroom toilet was broken and had the minimum basic supplies. The shower water was either too hot or too cold. We went in winters and the room heating was not working. When we called the reception, they behaved as if we were fools and hung up after telling us not to turn on the air conditioning! When we inquired about the free wireless, they told us our computer was not working and so not connecting to the wireless. We were not given more blankets and had to make do with two thin ones on the most uncomfortable and smelly bed. The hotel staff is very unfriendly and does not seem to help. There is only one woman who does not speak English but if you can find her, she can make your stay a bit more bearable otherwise you are doomed in that hotel.
“Planning on staying at the hotel again.”
The room was quite big and clean. The bathroom was clean as well. The breakfast (extra) is quite good at the hotel and the price is really reasonable. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. Only issue is that the TV is very small and most chanells are in check. However, dint watch the TV much anyway as was out most of the day.
“Not too bad for what you pay but don't expect much”
The location of the Hotel is brilliant for town, we generally found it took us about 20 mins to walk to the old town and the road it is on isn't that busy so its not too noisy. However, the room was dingy and not that great. the double bed i had booked was in fact a twin with the two beds pushed together and there wasn't even a double blanket to make it feel a little less separated. It looked nothing like the picture on the website which was a real disppointment when we arrived. On the flip side, for the very low price it wasn't terrible as long as you know what to expect. this is a great hotel for a backpacking group or a stag/hen group but not for a romantic weekend or for anyone who likes spending a lot of time in their hotel!
“These are the Postcards from a Young Man....a suitably satisfied one at that.”
I wasn't expecting anything extravagant and nor did I require anything as such as I didn't visit Prague to sit in my hotel room. I just wanted somewhere clean, secure and comfortable and the Pension Brezina provided exactly that. Situated about ten minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and a minute walk from I.P Pavlova Metro Station, for the price it would be difficult to beat. I couldn't get a decent Wi-Fi connection, which was a minor issue, however, if you require somewhere functional and not too far away from the 'action' then this place isn't too bad at all. If you're expecting a view or are concerned about noise from the bar next door (albeit I was lucky enough to be insulated from the bar by the stairwell) then this place probably isn't for you. On the whole, for me, it's a thumbs up.
“i would definately go back to this hotel”
we stayed in this hotel in october for 3 nights and we wanted something close to the centre with clean beds and showers.thats exactly what we got.it was easy to find and a 20 min walk to the centre which was amazing.it is only 2 min away from the metro.the room was comfortable and nice.i would go back anytime.
“Nice clean hotel in a great location”
I stayed here on the first night of my visit to the lovely city of Prague. For the price, the hotel room was nice, clean and spacious. The best part of the hotel is the great location as it is literally a couple of blocks away from the IP Pavlova train station as well as the train line. The old town (Stare Mesto) is a short 10 minute walk away. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking value and location. The only downside was the erratic nature of the Wifi connection at the hotel.
