“Excellent Service!”
The hotel was extremely accommodating. From helping us secure Metro passes, arranging car service to and from the airport, allowing very early check in upon our arrival and working out a mistake with our breakfast buffet (they made it right without question). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Novotel Wenceslas as we do at all the Novotels. We will definitely keep Novotel as our go to hotel for travel!
“Outstanding service”
We found the staff to be friendly & extremely helpful. They went out of their way to answer questions & help us with cab, train arrangements, etc. Also I accidently left a shawl in our hotel room & they were so kind as to mail it back to me in the US. The location of the hotel was great -we were able to walk to most of the main tourist attractions.
“basic and clean hotel and would stay again”
The Hotel boosts a Spa, all it has is a pool and a person on call to give massages only. The hotel also boosts Wenceslas Square as it's address, which is a 10/15 minute walk away. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. But disapointed we had to go else where for our plampering.
“Great hotel near Prague center”
It has nice pool, surprising additions so close to the city center. Great access to the subway (I.P.Pavlova across the street). Didn't use the restaurant; seems overpriced compared to the many restaurants in the neighborhood.
“Good value and much better than expected”
We spent a long time looking at hotel reviews. With 4 of us we were looking for a family room that was clean and comfortable. We booked the Novotel because it was much less than the comparison hotels we were looking at (quarter the cost) although a little out of the pretty bit. The swimming pool was a good size, Jacuzzi and sauna were in good condition and a fitness room. The only downside was a reluctance to hand out extra towels at the pool! We read reports criticising the breakfast but it was excellent with a range of cheeses, sliced cold meat, fruit juice, fruit salad, tinned fruits, breads, pastries, buns, cereals and hot drinks. There was bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and boiled eggs it was continental style so the sausages were like mini hot dogs and the bacon was small and crispy. TV had a couple of English news channels including. The bathroom was spacious with modern fittings and very clean, the shower was especially good and air conditioning. Prague is easy to get around on foot it only takes half an hour from one side to the other, if you are fit and healthy, so this hotel was about 10-15mins from the real sights. There were a couple of seedy streets nearby but we never felt in danger and we walked everywhere up to 11:00 at night. If you are less active there were tram and underground stops within 50m of the hotel. Usual higher hotel prices for drinks etc but not exorbitant. Thoroughly recommend the hotel and the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English.
“Never going back”
I booked this hotel for two separate occasions, one week apart. The first reservation turned into a nightmare. The hotel informed me they could not accommodate me 'for technical reasons' and would send me by taxi to another 4 star hotel. Trouble is, they forgot to tell the taxi driver the destination hotel, and also that they would pay the fare. We spent an hour driving around Prague, trying four different hotels before we found the right one, at which point the driver said his only English word: 'Money?". The replacement hotel did not have a pool, the entire reason I chose the Novotel in the first place. Complaints about this got me no help. For my second reservation at the Novotel the following week, they were able to accommodate me. At first glance, my room seemed nice, however, the bathroom floor had dirt on it. My other issue is with the free internet service. This is actually one computer, which is monopolized by young people. The only time it was free when I checked was at 6:30 AM.
“Was not good”
It is Far from the square and historical area. I reserved twin bed but they gave me one bed and sofa bed. Room service asked to go my self to the bar to get Ice otherwise they will charge me.
“Not impressed”
Novotel Wenceslas Square is sadly not in Wenceslas Square but in I.P.Pavlova Square which is one tube stop or 10 mins walk through the red light district from the far end of Wenceslas Square (in relation to the sites). Not great for a Family Novotel! We specifically chose Novotel following an exceptional stay at the Novotel in Krakow. Unfortunately Novotel Praha fell a poor second on almost all levels. Not that clean or well kept, fair share of miserable staff, no special welcome for children (despite what is says on the website), swimming pool was closed for maintenance for 3 out of 5 days we were there, despite request for a cot prepared the spare bed instead, special offer menu despite being advertised throughout hotel was apparently unavailable until we complained and then suddenly became available again. Incredibly disappointing
“Adequate hotel”
Nice hotel, however the only minor faults were the bed was not very comfy, swimming pool was cold (warmed up by the jacuzzi and sauna). Extremely friendly staff and very helpful. Now that I have been to Prague, in my personal view I would get a hotel in the Stare Mesto area and not Nove Mesto which this one was. Finally, loved Prague - a lovely City and a lovely break.
“Looking forward to a third stay...”
We really appreciated the great and attentive service of the front desk. This hotel provided all the amenities our family wanted. The location is ideal; short walk to Wencenslas Square and Old Town Square (did it with two small kids in tow - so not lying!) and very near metro stop and tram stops. This is our second stay at Novotel Praha and we're looking forward to our third!
