Great hotel about 30 minute walk from sites

Posted 30-Jun-2014
Staff was very friendly and room was large and clean. My only two complaints were that the shower was a bit ackward because you pretty much have to take a bath or get water everywhere and the elevator was non-existent which was a little issue for our baby stroller. The staff did wind up upgrading our room, showed up where to park personally (secure parking for a fee), and switched our room to the "first floor"(up one flight of stairs). Breakfast was good and wifi was plenty fast. Oh and the Czech restaurant across the street is delicious!!

Great place

Posted 15-Jun-2014
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was a great experience. The only negative things I could say is that the shower was very awkward for me to use and the bed was two twin mattresses on a queen bed frame. If I was in Prague again I would still stay here. The price was right and the staff was very friendly. We were hot in our room and the front desk went out of their way to get us a portable air conditioner. Very considerate. And you get free breakfast and pretty fast wifi.

Very friendly staff. Clean and tidy hotel. Quick and easy access to trams and tourist hot spots. Will certainly be returning there on my next visit.

Expectations

Posted 09-Dec-2013
Pros: Mulled wine and a local drink on arrival which was very welcoming.
Cons: milk and coffee in the rooms, and allocation of rooms, the top ones should only be used as a last resort or at least change the position of the beds
Location: Tram stops very close by
Perhaps we took the comments on web sites to be true, however we found the hotel disappointing, we were put up on the top floor where you had to bend under the beams to get into one side of the bed, It wasn't like the beams were atmospheric just a pain and uncomfortable. Tea and hot water in the rooms but no coffee and no milk. Breakfast was in a very dismal basement and although plenty of food on offer, non of us thought it particularly good food. There were four of us, two couples and we all felt the same about the hotel. The second night we asked to be moved as for some reason at about 1 am the air conditioning came on and was very noisy the girl on reception duty came up to see if she could find out why this had happened and spent a good while confirming she had no idea, she couldn't just move us she had to phone her manager who then talked her though everything she had just done and asked her to check the boiler the odd thing about this was she told us the air conditioning didn't work anyway so they didn't use it, finally she agreed to move us to a lower floor room, which was a much better and more comfortable room so if this was vacant I cant understand why when we had booked the hotel in good time we couldn't have had a better room allocated in the first place. We will not be going back to this hotel.

Pros: Everything was great, room, breakfast, staff.
Cons: We would have liked a shower that was not hand held, affixed to the wall so you could stand and take a proper shower!!
Great hotel within an easy 5 minute walk of the convention centre, and a leisurely 20-30 minute walk along the river to Old town, the bridge, all the touristy things to see and do. We loved the location in a quiet neighbourhood. Grocery store across the road for those who don't want to eat in a restaurant every night. The staff are terrific and have great recommendations for places to eat in the neighbourhood too. Prague is a walking friendly city, we never felt the need to use the transit except to go to the zoo ~ a great outing and easy to get to by bus.

Great hotel near Vysehrad Castle.

Posted 08-Nov-2013
Pros: The hotel was near the Vltava river.
Location: The location is about a half an hour walk to Prague Bridge.
King Charles Boutique Hotel is situated beside the Vysehrad Castle were we stayed for two weeks. This hotel was not far from most of the sites in Prague maybe a half an hour walk. The hotel was nicely decorated and the employees welcomed us daily with either a good morning or hello. Breakfast was include and this was a nice start to the day. There was a tea kettle in the room with a good variety of teas for you to enjoy and a free coffee machine in the lobby. The marble washroom had a heated towel rack perfect. Just a short walk to Vltava river on Saturdays they set up a shopper's bazaar with a variety of local cuisines and some locally made items. I would stay at this hotel again.
