“Location, location location”
Really near the underground, the restaurant of the hotel is great. Service was brilliant with some British staff. Will be going back next week!
“Very impressed”
Excellent location on Wenceslas Square. Reception staff very helpful with excelent command of English. Hotel room very comfortable and quiet at night. Plenty on the menu for Breakfast - but don't expect decent English bacon. Como Resaurant is good value but there are better places to eat on Wenceslas Square. Bar closed at midnight!
“Great location”
The location is amazing and the hotel itself has a lot of things right there at your fingertips. The room was nice, bedding was comfortable and cleaning service was good. Breakfast was very good. The negatives: The internet is available on every floor, but the 4th floor dropped out for some reason half way through our trip an they never got it working again. Just don't stay on the 4th floor. The room keys kept demagnetizing. Everyday at least once i would have to go down and get the key remade for the door. The casino advertised with the hotel is actually a separate business next door, so it was a little misleading. To top it off the casino advertised tournaments, but they never have enough players to play a tournament. Great for cash games though. Overall, the hotel was nice and it is worth the money for location.
“Yalta Hotel”
Good hotel for less money
“Nice hotel unless you want Air Conditioning”
Although the hotel advertised that it had airconditioning, the air conditioning automatically turned off every 15 to 20 minutes. So, unless you wanted to get up every 15 minutes to turn on the AC, you would have to sleep in the heat if you go in the summer like I did. Otherwise, the room was fine (a little small), and the service was excellent. The exchange rates were fair. The location was excellent - tons of places to see and eat, and adjacent to two metro stations. The hotel was locate on a busy street but the room I had was very quiet. The neighborhood was safe. This hotel would have been perfect if the AC had been fully functional.
“Never again - door banging from hell”
The lobby of the hotel is very small because most of the ground floor is the bar and restaurant. I was not offered any help with my bags to the room which I'd usually expect. Two lifts but one was broken and the other sometimes didn't work either. All the bedroom doors opened outwards towards the hallway Unfortunately this meant that other guests and staff constantly banged their room doors closed. No doors had automatic door closers fitted. This proved a major annoyance for me because doors were banged at all hours of the day and night. There is absolutely no sound proofing for each room. Once, when I slept in, I could hear the cleaner banging around in the adjacent rooms and it was if she was in mine! The pictures of the rooms shown do not accurately resemble the size of the room I received. There was no separate seating area and fittings are more basic than those shown. The bathroom is badly designed because the main shower head was too low for me to stand under and there is a tiny fixed shower screen between the bath and the vanity which does not prevent water from spraying out into the room when trying to shower. Also there was no ability to regulate the water pressure and the temperature separately so to ensure I was no scallded by water that was too hot I had to have the shower on a trickle.
