“Almost perfect!”
Great location 10 mins away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. A fantastic tram system outside the hotel either number 18 or 24 will take you straight to Charles Bridge or Wencelas Square. Friendly staff and very helpful, room was large with TV and a fabulous bathroom with bath and seperate toilet. Only 2 disappointments was the unusal & sometimes lacklustre buffet breakfast & limited evening meals available BUT on recommendation from the receptionist, 2 mins around the corner was a local restaurant/pub which served superb traditional food and fantastc local beer!
“Very good for the price”
We stayed just 1 night in Prague, but definitely happy with the hotel. It wasn't the Ritz Carlton, and we had to take the train to the city center, but the fact is, public transport is very cheap and convenient in Prague, so you don't need a hotel right in the city center. Staff was friendly, room was small-ish but clean and comfortable. There wasn't much to do around the hotel, but, again, getting to the center is very simple.
“Train Central”
The staff was warm and helpful. The breakfast was OK. The trains running outside the hotel window were very annoying. The hotel sits right next to the tram and train tracks, so there are continuous trains passing the hotel all night long. If you have lived next to the tracks before, you probably wouldn't notice, but we had to keep the window open and the train noise was a real nuisance.
“Good price and location”
Reception staff was friendly, parking was free and easy, and the tram stop is right outside. Reception even sells tram tickets! It was tricky to find in the dark without GPS, but I got a city map and directions from another hotel once I got to the right neighborhood. Hotel Union has a delicious breakfast buffet with all kinds of breads, jams, meats, and cheeses. They also provide free WiFi. It's quick and easy to take the tram downtown to do sightseeing. I'd definitely stay here again.
“Not imressed... Very uncomfortable rooms!!!”
First bad thing is location.. Bathroom is awful. Is very loud place and you hear everything from next room... Breakfast is not tasty and tables is not clean and sometimes you cant find free table... Not all stuff speaks English.
“Cheap, but a little far from center of town”
Rooms very small, amenities not 4 star like we are used to. More like 2 star. Beds are very firm and pillows are thin and flat not puffy. Breakfast staff are not friendly and always running out of things. Hotel is close to tram stop. Hotel area not in good neighborhood
“Good option on a budget”
Pros: Close to several tram lines (18 and 24 will get you anywhere you need, really) Large room Good breakfast Friendly staff Not too expensive Cons: A bit noisy outside (trams and trains - traffic is light) You have to like very firm beds No dedicated shower (shower head in the tub)
“A good hotel in Prague”
The service at this hotel was excellent. I complained that a new arrival in the next room was too loud at night, as I was on my way to town in the morning. When I got back, the night desk clerk knew about the complaint and had the keys of the new and old room ready for me to relocate. Then I thought I locked my key in my room, and the desk clerk went to undo the lock very patiently and politely, even though he was the only one on duty there. The food at the hotel restaurant was probably better than at the restaurants in the touristy area, and perhaps a little cheaper. The breakfast left a bit to be desired, but it was adequate. As a vegetarian, my choices were cold cereal and fruit. If I go back, I'd prefer to stay closer to old town. But the good thing about this hotel was that there's a tram stop right outside the door; tram prices are reasonable, and the hotel sells tram tickets at face value.
“Gutes preiswertes Hotel”
Ich war vom 14.12.-18.12.2011 in diesem Hotel. Das Hotel ist Tag und Nacht mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichbar. Es liegt unweit vom Stadtzentrum, zum Wenzelsplatz ca. 10 min. mit der Tram. Der Service im Hotel ist spitze. Nette Bedienung und preiswertes Essen im Restaurant. Frühstück inklusive. Ich komme gerne wieder.
“Hotel Union - non in centro ma servito adeguatamente dai mezzi pubblici”
L'hotel Union si presenta dall'esterno come un tipico palazzo praghese. La zona dove è collocato è periferica al centro città ma vicina al castello di Vyserad. Un quartiere tranquillo collegato con il centro città dai tram 18 e 24 che hanno la fermata proprio fuori l'albergo. Il personale è disponibile e parla correntemente l'inglese. I servizi sono adeguati, la camera spaziosa e pulita. Lascia desiderare, per un italiano, la colazione.
