“Great Hotel, but loud if your room faces the square”

The hotel is lovely. The room is large and clean. However, I have two big issues with the hotel. 1. My room - located facing the main square - the view - fabulous! The noise from the square at night when the bars close is just awful. From 2am-4am if your room is facing the square you will get no sleep. 2. The front desk is very nice, but if they don't sell the tour they do not know about it. The front desk ended up looking stuff up for me online about a popular tourist dinner venue. I was really suprised how little the desk knew about their city. Concierge service in Prague is quite different from the States. Overall a nice property, but loud.

“curtains time”

great location. nice staff. bathroom without curtains - water spills on floor. first room we received, 22, was with bed upstairs on a seperate level - very narrow and uncomfortable re watching tv or going to the bathroom. moved to 44 - much better

“5 Sterne mal ganz anders”

Liest man die Hotelbeschreibung und kommt man dort an so erfährt man 5 Sterne in einer anderen Art. 1. Das Zimmer war so winzig, es hatte nur einen schmalen Gang zu einem kleinen Doppelbett das den Raum vollständig ausfüllte. Als Belohnung dafür gabs Bettwäsche mit Haaren vom Vormieter und sonstige Flecken. 2. Ein ausdrückliches Lob an die Mikrowellenküche hier verbrennt man sich wenigstens nicht den Mund und das Essen gelangt durch seine Schwere direkt in den Magen wo es den Rest des Abends spürbar verbleibt. 3. Die Bezahlung ist denkbar einfach - immer + 20% für Coperto und Trinkgeld. 4. Die Getränke Karte eine wahre Gaumenfreude - Bier oder Wasser zum selben Preis und keinen offenen Hauswein sondern nur Flaschen einfachen Weines zu gepflegten Preisen. 5. Und wer sich wirklich etwas gönnen möchte der isst auf der Dachterrasse. Hier gibt's die Speisekarte im reduzierten Umfang mit zusätzlichem Preisaufschlag. Als Bonus für die Kontaktfreudigkeit die maximal enge Bestuhlung die eine zwischenzeitlichen Gang aus WC unmöglich macht. In Summe lässt es sich wie folgt zusammenfassen: Das Prinzip der Gewinnmaximierung auf sehr engem Raum findet hier eine neue Form der Realisierung.

Area recommendations
Prag ist historisch eine traumhafte Stadt und wirklich zu empfehlen, und wer die romantisch vielfältige Seite kennen lernen möchte sollt die Seitenstraßen aufsuchen. Achtung: Der Schlafplatz fürs Auto kostet die Hälfte des Schlafplatzes einer Person in einem Doppelzimmer.

“U PRINCE au coeur de la vieille ville.”

Très bel hôtel situé près de la place, au coeur de la vieille ville - en plus un restaurant en terrasse avec une vue panoramique magnifique. Bien accueillis. Seul point négatif : le son des voix venant de la réception qui monte la nuit et pose problème lorsque les fenêtres donnent sur le patio.

Il y a beaucoup de touristes. En été et aux fêtes de fin d'année il y a du monde je pense.
Getting there
PARIS / PRAGUE : 1h40 de vol puis prendre une navette - voir si l'hôtel propose une navette. Je ne connais pas le tarif des taxis.

“Mooie locatie in mooie stad!”

Aan het plein met de bekende astronomische klok. Prima uitgangspunt om Praag te voet te doen. Prettige ontvangst, aandacht voor vragen over de stad, zeer uitgebreid ontbijt, (nieuwe exploitant) bar beneden met grote cocktail-deskundigheid.

Area recommendations
Praag is in het geheel indrukwekkend; de omgeving van het hotel is een van DE stadsdelen (Stare Mesto); vervolgens door kleine straatjes richting de Karel-brug; aan de overkant daarvan naar rechts aan het water: leuk wijkje met restaurants die weer terugkijken op de brug (Kampa Park op het eilandje Kampa, en ten noorden van dat eiland rond het Kafka Museum: Hergetova Cihelna, Certovka); verder natuurlijk LOPEND omhoog van het Mala Strana plein naar het kasteel.
