“Very centrally located clean hotel”

This hotel is ideally suited for a city break, easily accessible by public transport. From here you can easily walk to all the main sights. It is above a club however I didnot hear it in my room. The entrance is a little off putting but was not a problem at night. There are plenty of reasonable eating places nearby away from the expense of the town square. If you want a basic clean central hotel then this will meet your needs.

“No elevator”

Hotel has excellent location, very quiet for a busy street. Main negative is no elevator. The entry is up a flight of grey concrete steps with trash cans at night. At the top of the flight, you need to signal desk to unlock door. Not comfortable at night. Also consider no air conditioning or fans. Rooms were very stuffy during a recent unusual hot spell.

“Good location”

Hotel is located within walking distance to all major attractions. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the room on the first day but they resolved it the next morning.

“great location, somewhat substandard condition”

this is a converted set of flats into a hotel; the entrance is shared with other occupants, it's dark at night; when someone puked in the entry gate on Saturday night, it stayed there until Monday.

“Hotel in Prague”

Very basic for a 3 star hotel. Friendly, English speaking staff. Clean, comfortable (if a bit crowded) rooms. Excellent location close to the Old Town Square. Some noise from other rooms, usually from the plumbing. Shower cubicles (we changed rooms) tended to be poor quality and leak - in one case through the ceiling of our bathroom.

“New Year Celebrations in Prague 2010”

New Year in Prague for the second year running was an amazing experience for us yet again. Hotel Melantrich did not disappoint. Obviously you get what you pay for and with this in mind really cannot grumble. Some of the strange little touches were quite funny, such as the curtains which do not close and the mini bar which consists of a few cans and bottles put in a little basket. Breakfast was very nice with a wide variety choices from fruit to cereal with lovely fresh coffee/orange juice. All the people at reception were absolutely lovely and take great pride in giving advice with regards to tourist attractions, lovely to be greeted with a smile each morning/evening. Hotel Melantrich is in a fantastic location right in the centre of the action. Didn't hear the nightclub in the basement at all and only knew it was there because of the queues in the evening. All in all a lovely experience.

Small but quite convenient. Do not have any problem, will consider stay again next time.

“Good location”

The location of Hotel Melantrich was great - just a short walk to Old Town Square. The room was clean, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable, no hairdryer! and you had to pay for a tea/coffee set for your room if you wanted it. If you want a basic hotel, then this is OK but personally, I would not return.
