The hotel is very old. The mattress are dirty. The sink doesn't work. The breakfast was poor and the coffee machine didn't work. Overall, don't stay in this hotel!

Katarina, Katka D and the head housekeeper are the only staff members who were willing to help you. Others, especially Veronica at reception, the blonde woman on the bar and the “security guard” were absolutely appallingly rude. We had no power for an entire night and after basically begging for a different room for just that night were given a ground floor room with disabled amenities - couldn’t even open the window and it was about 28o. Breakfast absolutely disgusting and all food was either cold including that which had just been bought out of the kitchen, stale or inedible - the slab of eggs were actually black/green in the middle!!! I could go on but don’t have enough room. Can not believe Expedia is associated with such a shoddy hotel and an disgusted that it rips people off by placing them in this hotel. Will never use Expedia again!

My family has traveled a lot and stayed at a lot of hotels and apartments but this is thus far the most terrible accommodation that we’ve stayed at, luckily it was for only one night. The pictures of the hotel don’t look so bad and I really don’t mind if the place is outdated as long as it is clean. Once we arrived at the lobby the carpets and the walls were already showing sign of a hotel that is not kept up very well. When we walked into our room the carpet was even worse with lots of stains and the bed frames are upholstered with fabric that had more stains. I immediately requested another room that was somewhat better with less stains. I will not return to the hotel and would not recommend it to anyone

Hotel OK, clean, and good service. No AC, so not comfortable when out temp is 36C. no airport shuttle or wi-fi in room, contrary to what advertised. You need to get taxi to get to airport, front desk is happy to do this, but the price is double overpriced, so you better do it yourself. It is not easy - the room phone don't work (always busy signal) - come to front desk to and ask to call the number, they do it- reason for I put a poor score.

No Airport Shuttle
Part of the reason I booked a room here is because I was the last of my group to leave the country, and their site advertised an "airport shuttle". When I arrived I was told they didn't have one but the could arrange a "flat rate" transport to the airport for 500 Koruna, which is about USD$25. To go THREE MILES! Rooms were super basic, no AC, so I just sort of sat there and sweated for a day waiting for my flight. They did accommodate me early, which was cool, and there are some hiking trails and restaurants near by, so not a total loss, but I HATE when places advertise falsely. Oh yeah, and it was the only place in Europe that we stayed over nearly a month that made you pay for wifi access. It was fairly cheap and close to the airport, so I can't complain.

It was convenient as far as public transportation. The permitted early check-in, so we could leave our stuff and go sight seeing. The website clearly states that check-out is noon, but they called at 11:00 insisting that we check out. When we showed them the checkout time on the website 15 minutes later (checking out), their response was "O". No apology, no offer to solve the problem. We basically got kicked out of our room, and were glared at by the cleaning crew, who arrived as we closed the door to the room. This was very unpleasant.

Not a clean, modern hotel
The room was a last-minute booking because we were looking for a place near the airport. The room smelled of cigarettes and was very dated. Despite advertising airport transfers, the best they could do was call us a cab for our early morning flight.

good cheap hotel
We have stayed here before and always enjoy the Fortuna West.Had a 9 hour delay with our flight but still no problem checking in.Breakfast was incredibly busy and very full-could almost do with even more room!!!!. The 9 and 16 trams run very regular and there is also a night service,so 24 hour transport to the hotel and only a 5 mins or so walk from the tram stop.easy from the airport too with a change at Zlicin metro to the 180 bus to Hlusickova.

old and very far from the city
The rooms are big but not renovated since a while. The air conditioning is the bathroom was extremely noisy so impossible to stay there longer. I was just using it with open door so I don't have to switch the light and turn it on!! Poor breakfast, very far from city centre and no water in the room. The only advantages are price, parking, quite close to the airport and smiling lady at the reception.

Clean, comfortable and close to Metro line
On arrival at the hotel the receptionist was friendly and helpful and able to communicate well in English. The room was clean and comfortable, we were on the 9th floor which was accessible by lift. We found the location to be great as 200 metres to Metro line which gave us access to the city centre, we purchased a 3 day ticket at the airport at a cost of approximately £10 each which we more than had our money's worth. The breakfast at the hotel was ample, continental style... lovely fresh bread. The Lobby bar was very reasonable and a friendly service. Would recommend.

Not what I was expecting
So here is the good part: the location and staff were incredible. I've never been to Prague and was traveling alone and wanted to travel like a local. It was quite easy. You exit the airport and the bus station is right in front of you. Take the 100 bus (there's an electronic bulletin board that tells you when the next one is coming) towards Zličín. You'll know when to get off because it's a big bus interchange with lots of busses coming and going. There you want to take the 180 towards Dejvická. You're going to get off at Hlušičkova. You'll see the Fortuna West tower on the other side of the street, you cannot miss it. You'll notice that the hotel is right next to a bus station and trolley line. Take the trolley, it will get you anywhere you want to go and runs until about midnight. It's amazing! If you have any questions ask the staff, they are great and will orient you to the city, which can be confusing to get around. As far as the hotel goes, I've paid less and have had better comfort and cleanliness. The room was okay on the cleanliness factor. My biggest challenge was that the door to the corridor was right next to my room and as people would come in they would let it slam and it woke me throughout the night. There's also no wi-fi in the rooms unless you pay for it. There is only free wi-fi in the lobby. I traveled from Milan and paid a lot more for this room then I did for my room in Milan and feel like I got a lot less. But the location was unbeatable.

Disappointing
It was disappointing. The door looked like it was broken into, the curtain on the windows was not long enough to completely cover the windows, the carpets were stained, no air conditioning and no mosquito nets ... Apart from that, the service was pleasant and the breakfast was OK. The location was great too - but that was the reason I booked the hotel in the first place, so no surprise there.

Just don't stay here
Just don't. Just don't stay here. It might seem cheap at the moment, it might seem like its close to public transport. It is not worth it. Even if they are paying you. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It will take a good 40 minute to get to prague 1 each way. There is nothing nearby, mostly just apartment blocks and overgrown field. No grocery stores, restaurants even people. It just looks depressing and empty at night, little to no lights around either. The hotel itself is an old soviet era building that still has all the charm of the old times. It looks old and dilapidated, just grey all over. The room smelled, the bathroom was not in a good condition. Everything just looked 30 years old. The lady at the front desk during the day had a permanent go away look and attitude from checking in to asking a question, everything seemed to have bothered her. A customer asked to store bags because check in was at 2, she didn't even bother looking up from the pc screen and just placed keys on the counter, and said luggage room is over there. It was not possible to check in before 2, and it was a similar sour experience. The lady had never heard of things like a smile or customer service. The breakfast which is included in most cases, consists of bad coffee and mostly cold cut meats. There were a lot of options but mostly gone if you get up at 8-9. There were very few lights at this hotel. All in all it was like going back in time, to visit how things were in the soviet era.

It is a cheap hotel. You get what you pay for it.
The first night I got a single tooom with an old uncomfortable mattress. Could not sleep. I asked to change a room an got a better one . Stuff is ok , but most of the time only one clerk , so needed to wait a lot for service. Hotel does not supply coffee nor toiletry . But can be purchase. Overall, good for the money for poeple who wants just a clean bed for the night

Good Value hotel.
So I wasn't expecting the Ritz. Reception staff friendly and really helpful. Breakfast staff were from old mommy days of Czechoslovakia and couldn't raise a smile. Breakfast was ok, but basic. Room was very clean, but thin walls and bedroom doors banged. No sound proofing.

Good hotel for the price
Hotel is 20 min to center with Tram 9. You get the Tram in front of the hotel for just 24 krone one way, this is just 1 Euro. Place is safe. Breakfast included and good. Good choices to eat. Internet in lobby and breakfast area, in the room you need to pay. Close to airport, got A AA taxi, paid close to 400 krone, they give a coupon for 40% discount for return to airport. Good option of hotel, always better if you can be right in the city center, your choice depending of budget.

I am not the average traveler, I am in a hotel 100+ days a year. This hotel would be best described as budget. The carpet was not clean (toenails from the last customer) the shower leaked all over the floor, and during the 5 night stay the bedding was not changed once. BUT the price was great. I guess you cannot have it all.

Good Hotel, close to airport
Was a good hotel for the night as flew into Prague at 1am so was convient as it is close to the airport (7km). You get what you pay for, good breakfast

Nice Hotel with Access to Public Transportation
Nice hotel with convenient access to public transportation and good breakfast. New elevator (lift) added recently, from lobby to first floor restaurant level, is a welcome addition. Hotel lacks air conditioning in rooms -- a ceiling fan in each room would help. No ice machine for use by guests. Nice paved path from tram/bus stop to hotel lacks a ramp at hotel end. Stairs at hotel entrance lack hand rails. Hotel front desk staff pays no attention to doorbell at hotel entrance from handicapped ramp.
