“Brilliant Hotel”

Stayed here from 17.11.11 - 20.11.11, spotless rooms, lovely and warm, clean restaurant with plenty of breakfast choice. Staff were really helpful, bar staff couldn't do enough for you, same at reception. Perfect location, walking distance from the main restaurants etc but worth at look a the local Czech bar's, very reasonably priced & good fun. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this Hotel, can't wait to go back, it's BRILL!!! :-)

Area recommendations
Have a look down the side streets around the Hotel, there's lots of Czech bar's, very reasonably priced with entertainment (usually accordion/singer), good food and beer brewed on the premises (dark lager, lovely). Can get a bit expensive on the other side of the river by the Castle for food and drink. Wear comfortable shoe's as there's so much to see.
What to pack
Forget your high heel's, I took mine (bought specially for the trip!!) they never came out of my suitcase!! Take a warm coat but some light clothes too as the bar's & hotel's get really warm. Thick jumpers are good but wear something light underneath so you can take them off when you go inside.

“I would recommend this hotel”

This Hotel was in the right location, within walking distance to all main sightseeing attractions. The room was a Triple room with 2 single beds and a sofa bed, surprisingly the sofa bed was very comfortable, also a large bathroom, TV and fridge, breakfast was varied something for everyone, more than adequate. The only downfall for the hotel was the lack of access to the outside terrace, this was only accessible when the restaurant was open for breakfast, we have just returned from Prague and the weather was surprisingly hot for May, and it would have been nice to sit outside and have a drink before going out for the evening. I would defiantly recommend this Hotel; the staff were pleasant and helpful.

“Don't bother with the executive room!”

We have stayed here before and were lured by the traditional looking art nouveau furniture. Last time we assumed all rooms had this and were slightly disappointed when we arrived to find out that the room was almost like a standard travelodge hotel. However, it was clean, friendly and in an ideal location. This time we decided to book the same hotel but opt for the more expensive executive option. We did this and were expecting something a bit more special. We had a nice welcome from the staff when checking in. Again though, unfortunately we were disappointed with the room. It did have the art nouveau furniture but, the wardrobe was wedged closed with a folded piece of card! The mattress was very uneven and peaked in the centre giving us the feeling of rolling out! There is a card in the room informing guests of the various available services. It states a variety of additional services available to executive rooms- a free drink on arrival, flowers in the room, a basket of fruit, late check out, air conditioning etc. We were given none of these. It was very warm especially in the room but our air conditioning was not switched on, we didn't realise until it was too late that we should have had it and thought perhaps it was an additional extra. We had a perfectly nice time and did not let it spoil our holiday but it certainly disappointed us.

Area recommendations
I would recommend all areas within the city. We also travelled south on a visit to Ceske Krumlov and that was excellent too. This is a historical city with incredible sights and astounding architecture.
When to go
We have been in February and April. Both were perfect as we were lucky with the weather. When it rains there are gorgeous cafes to sit in or museums to visit. When it snows it adds to the atmosphere. when it's sunny all gold glitters and the views across the city are enhanced.
Getting around
If you have a central hotel Old Town or Praha 1 then everything is within walking distance. The trams take you nearly everywhere. Our experience on the underground was great too. Tickets are easily available and can be used around the city as well as on the funicular railway in Petrin Park.
Must see
Petrin Park, mini Eiffel tower, Castle, Television Tower, Astronomical clock, old town- everything, Jewish Quarter, Spanish Synagogue, Little Quarter- Charles Bridge. Can't think of anything to avoid.

“centre without the crowds”

this hotel is very welcoming and the rooms are spacious and very clean although mine didn't have any of the antique furniture one can see on their site. You'll find compimentary tea there but no coffee and good quality toiletries in the bathroom. The location is ideal as it is central, only two minutes from the river then a leisurly fifteen minutes' walk from Charles Bridge and five minutes fron the National Opera House and yet out of the noisy touristic crowds. Buffet breakfast was very good and offered a different choice every day. The staff are attentive that nothing is missing and clear the tables as soon as the guests have left them, so no clutter. The bar is pleasant and well stocked with whatever you may want. It is a shame there isn't a restaurant open for dinners, but plenty of those anyway (some very good and reasonably priced) all around the hotel. Free Wifi is available in the bar area as well as three computers in case you haven't got your laptop. Most staff (except for one)on the reception desk are very pleasant and helpful and their excellent linguistic skills go a long way to make life easier for the foreign guests. We were disappointed not to find the announced 6pm shuttle at the airport and had to take a taxi. The hotel taxi we ordered for our departure was right on the dot of 8.30am. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Area recommendations
so many things to see in Prague, it is difficult to recommend a specific place. On the first day, we were met by a friend who lives in Prague and she took us off the beaten tourist track. Well worth taking the tram and have your lunc h a few stops away from the old town.
When to go
We went there end of march and although it seems a number of events start in April, the advantage was that the crowds were more manageable. And we were blessed with Summer weather for the whole of our stay.

“Good Value”

The service was great, the manager Raissa was very helpful, but be aware, hotel standards in the Czech Republic are different from the US or other European countries, it is not a 4 star hotel, probably a 3 star hotel. Was always clean, breakfast buffet was decent and the location is great, walking distance to the the bridge, Prague Castle, Powder Tower and Astronomical Clock. No carpet at rooms, take slippers, good Thai restaurant across street. They will provide you with maps. Receptionist speak good English. They have taxi/cab service at hotel with good flat rates.

“Very pleased with the hotel”

We were very happy with our stay at Caesar Palace hotel. The hotel was conveniently situated and was close to all the main attractions. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the noise levels at times..we were right next to a cleaners cupboard and the cleaners were often outside at 7am which woke us up. Also there was a bit of noise upstairs with people walking heavily across the floor and a lot of moving furniture. Apart from that, we were pleased with our stay and would go back again.

Area recommendations
We enjoyed visiting Charles Bridge and also the Old Town Square. The buildings were beautiful, we were impressed with the architecture. Would definately go back again but maybe spend a bit longer next time as 3 days was not long enough.
What to pack
We went in February and it was very cold. When we arrived it was -13 so if you go in Winter make sure you have very warm clothes, thermals etc !

“Great location, comfortable, clean and friendly!”

We were very happy with the Caesers Palace hotel its location was ideal about a 10 minute walk from Charles Bridge. We couldn't fault the hotel at all and plan to return in the summer when it's warmer as the temperature was -10 outside but lovely and warm in the hotel. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet and definately filled you up for the days sight seeing. Was a little disappointed with the hotels sauna which was an additional charge and quite small.

Area recommendations
Prague has so much to offer its so beautiful and has lots of amazing places to visit and they are all easily accessible by foot or on tram. So the Caesers Palace location was great as everything wasn't far away we armed ourselves with DK's Eyewitness Travel Top 10 Prague book which contains a great clear map and selects all key places to visit which helped plan locations and how to get there. We managed to see so many amazing sights in 4 days and for people who dont normally take lots of photos we couldn't help snapping away.
Must see
So many great places to visit - The astronomical clock in the old town, Prague castle we climbed the 280+ steps to the top of St Vitus' Cathedral for a birds eye view of Prague, Would recommend the ghost walk for an hour of storytelling and to hear about Pragues haunted history. The place we visited which will stay with us all for ever was the crypt beneath the church of St Cyril and Methodius where the resistance fighters and assassinators of Hitler's number 3 Reinhard Heydrich took refuge and died.

“A great place to stay in a wonderful city.”

The hotel was in a convenient location for walking to all major sights and was very close to major tram stops. Not to mention just around the corner from the U Flecku historic beer hall which is well worth a visit! The hotel staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had very noisy neighbours on the first night of our stay, and when we mentioned this to reception in the morning, there was no hesitation by them and we were moved to a new (better appointed and quiet) room. The reception staff were also very helpful when asked about nearby restaurants. The hotel bar is ok. It is convenient and not hugely over priced for hotel standards, but there are better bars to visit very close to the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel is typically continental and quite basic. But there was always plenty of fruit, bread etc. I could not fault this hotel. It was a great place to stay in a wonderful city.
