Great Hotel

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: Service, breakfast and the price.
Cons: Be good if you could sit outside past 10pm - but local laws prevent it and you have to take your drinks inside.
Location: 10 mins walking to Wenceslas Square. Tram and Metro stop at IP Pavlova will get you anywhere in the city for only 24Kc and its a very efficient.
Great place to stay and explore Prague. Very friendly and helpful staff - saw me looking at the music recitals and offered advice on which was on that day and the next. Wide choice of breakfasts to start the day. Walking distance to the top of Wenceslas Square and then a stroll down into the Old Town. Metro/Tram stop at IP Pavolva in case you got tired - Tram 22 takes you back from visiting the Castle across the river. Competitive room rate - especially as breakfast is included. Old world feel about the hotel but without the drawbacks.

great place to locate in prague

Posted 18-Jul-2014
Pros: room controls and room recently remodeled bathroom spotless but the bar downstairs must have been updated but still had antique feel
Cons: note to travelers most hotels in prague dont have window screens , didn't bother me but worried my wife when we did open the windows
Location: I think Gala's a resturant is about 300m down the main drag ,some nite clubs close by 2 need bypassed if you have small kids museum and yhe square an.
people very friendly, good location (could walk to most places)bus and cabs close by tram 2 blocks away always check on net before travel, was exceptionally hot, roon was very cool . hotel resturant was very good both in morning and evening don't be in a hurry.call ahead to get tranport to the hotel at a good price, then get lost on the back roads in the old town. high point on the trip caught a concert in the national museum just before they closed to remodel .

Good hotel close to city centre

Posted 23-Jun-2014
Pros: See above.
Cons: As indicated, I thought the breakfast (in particular the hot food) was pretty basic. Definite room for improvement here.
Location: Good central location within walking distance of the old town.
Stayed two nights in a 'superior' twin room. The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was good with a powerful hot shower and bath. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but breakfast was standard fare - nothing outstanding but good choice; average quality. The hotel staff were courteous and pleasant and arranged things such as airport car efficiently and without fuss. All in all, a very good hotel and excellent value. Would go again.

We have only one very uncomfortable moment, our car was parked in hotel garage and someone mess up 2 tires. Driving home was disaster because we were in big problem screws were loose and we were so close to cause accident on the highway with speed 150 km/h. Car was towed from highway and technician inspected. We had a feeling we were not welcome

Charming hotel

Posted 03-May-2014
My husband & I stayed at the Green Garden on the recommendation of my son, who was there last year & raved about it! We are just back after staying 5 days & loved it too! The room & ensuite was possibly the cleanest we've ever seen in a hotel, a big thank you to our housemaid! The staff, (with the exception of the very tall young waiter who served us dinner on Tuesday 29th May) were all very helpful & friendly, so such a shame this young man let the side down! Unfortunately, that night the heating had broken down in the restaurant, it was so cold people were eating with their coats on, but it was the behaviour of the waiter that annoyed us more! He never smiled once, was very sullen, and forgot to bring the water we requested, we also noticed another diner going through to the bar to fetch his own drinks, a disgrace as there was only three tables with diners, however, the waiter was nowhere to be seen! My husband remarked that he was probably staying in the kitchen to keep warm! He never checked everything was okay during dinner, or after we had finished, very poor service! However, this would not stop us from returning, as the hotel & the rest of the staff were excellent, it was my birthday on the Thursday, & on returning to our room we found a bottle of champagne on ice & a birthday greeting from the hotel, lovely surprise, can only presume our housemaid saw my cards on the table & told reception, thank you so much Green Garden for a fantastic stay!
