Nice hotel close to Old Town Centre

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: Location. Breakfast.
Cons: The lifts were temperamental.
Location: Prague centre is nearby. Lots of bars and food. Metro station round the corner.
Good location. Comfortable hotel. Good, polite staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Didn't try other meals as the hotel is near lots of good eateries in all directions.

Central location

Posted 12-Sep-2014
Pros: Very central, good sized room, extensive breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Double glazing made the room quiet.
Location: Close to the Powder Gate, Smetana Hall, Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge. many little squares with outdoor caf├ęs. The beer is good, cold and cheap.
The hotel was a 15 min walk with suitcases from the central station. We had a warm welcome from the staff. The city centre was at the end of the street with a super market underground in the square. Many restaurants close by but beer and food cheaper off the tourist strip. We walked everywhere, even up to the castle. The Charles Bridge is close by but always very crowded. We spent 3 days there and can't wait to go back.

Pros: Breakfast buffet
Location: Power tower and astronomical clock.
Great luxuary hotel. Very clean rooms & bathrooms and staff very helpful and provided a map on arrival. The hotel is about 5 mins walk from the metro station. Was easy to get from the airport to the hotel by public transport. Got the 119 bus from the airport to Dejvicka station then got the metro line A then changed at Mustek station to line B to Nam Republiky station. Took about 45 mins in total for only 32kc and was a fun and easy route to do!! The breakfast was amazing and of good quality in a buffet style of high quality food and a lot of variety. The hotel was quite central, about a 20 min walk to Charles bridge and about 35 mins to Prague castle. Prague is such an amazing city and this was a perfect hotel as a base. A very high quality hotel and really enjoyed my stay here. Also a big shopping mall just down the road too called the "Palladium"

Highly recommended

This hotel is very well located, just a short walk to the Republic Square with numerous shops and beautiful buildings including the glorious art nouveau National Centre. Further onis the old town square and the hub of the tourist attractions. Prague is a beautiful city: highlights architecture and beer.

Grand Majestic Plaza Hotel

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: Everything
I had a 3 night stay at the Grand Majestic Plaza and it was wonderful. The staff were extremely polite & helpful. Superb breakfast with lots of choices. I had a double room which was very clean and extremely comfortable. I will return to Prague and definitely stay at the Grand Majestic Plaza again.

Quality hotel, nicely located

Posted 06-Sep-2014
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff. They also held our bags for us at no cost after checkout (we had a late flight).
Cons: Quieter air conditioning. I'd really urge the hotel to maintain free wifi throughout too.
Location: Short walk to Republiky for public transport links, and in any case the old town is in walking distance. Palladium shopping centre is also adjacent.
Stayed as a family group of 3 in a triple room (with 3 proper beds). Breakfast had lots of variety: good range of options, with some changes day to day too. Our room was toward the back of the hotel and quiet. Only 1 lift for that section, so we mostly used the stairs. While we stayed, the in-room wifi was free (its normally a cost extra). Only downside to our room was that the air conditioning was quite noisy - we could do without it in September though.

Lovely breakfast but reception staff a bit surly

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: Breakfast and location
Cons: Concierge desk to answer queries about points of interst and be more eager to help in general
Location: In the Stare Mesto and near Municipal House and Old Town Square. Local Restaurants to recommend: Lokal, Casa Argentina and Ambiente Pasta Fresca
Enjoyable. Lovely breakfast but reception staff a bit surly and unhelpful

Good location but closer to 2-3 star

Posted 23-Aug-2014
The lobby and staff were nice but the lifts, halls and rooms were more rundown than expected. The lift was missing buttons and a lot of lights were burnt out. At booking it seemed like a steal under a hundred $ a night but that price seems pretty fair now.
