“Isabelle (BOSTON)”
Everything was perfect, i can recommend this hotel, it is a perfect place to stay in Prague. The breakfast (buffet) is very good.
“The elevator is the only nice thing about this hotel”
Yes this hotel is near the train station and the opera house, but OMG are the photos deceiving. I was afraid walking on the street it was on and could NOT believe it was NEXT to the highway. I don't know how they got their front shot b/c it must have been taken from the middle of the highway. The lobby was tiny with a pathetic bar/snack area and the restuarant was in the gloomy basement. The room they gave me was tiny with a sad sky light. I could smell my neighbors liquor coming out under the door and hear them screaming. When I asked for another room b/c of the noise the woman at reception snottily told me "well, we get a lot of young people." Excuse me for wanting to sleep after a long journey. My next room had a lovely view of the on ramp to the highway. Walking to the train station was so fun with the sketchy homeless about and the lovely smell of pee. WHERE does Expedia get their star ratings from? I have NO clue.
“Go to GoldenTulip if you like wonderful breakfast and you are not claustrophobic”
I stayed at the hotel Golden Tulip, conveniently close to a metro stop on line C, 30 min by foot from "New Prague", Nove Mestro. The room was cosy and had irreproachable cleanliness. Staff is polite and nice. Breakfast is very good with a varied range of local sausages, bacon and bread (local falvours!!) However the hotel has numerous rooms in basement and on the roof, which means that you might end up with a room which has no real window, so it felt like being locked. Claustrophobic!! I found it really easy to reach the hotel but the area is really dodgy, especially after dark and the main road is gloomy. Finally it a real shame that they chose to welcome you with a so-called information card containing your passport number and credit card number (in case you run a telephone bill or something!!). It is the hotel policy but it is such an unwelcoming move and it does not help, especially that it is unheard thing for me, this is the very first time that I am compelled to give such details in a hotel
“Great hotel Staff”
We booked this place for a one-night stay in Prague. The staff was a great help in explaining how to get around the city; where the good places to go were, and even assisted with booking a massage that my fiance' badly needed. The hotel is obviously dated and old, but still clean, but the staff more than makes up for these small shortcomings. A breakfast buffet is included in the price; it is a great way to start the day.
“Golden Tulip Hotel”
Clean and friendly hotel with good facilities.
“Great value”
Golden Tulip was great value with spacious room and breakfast buffet located on the western edge of Old Town. Walking distance to main tourist areas but great the tram stop is close by after a long day walking. Onsite food options not great, best cafe options are towards Winceslas Square. Small mimi mart around corner. Area has improved with railway station park upgrade.Prague airport transfers were reliable for airport pick up and tours
“Excellent base for discovering Prague”
Excellent desk service. Upgrade of room given on arrival. Help with booking excursions from an efficient staff. Comfortable and well serviced room. the buffet breakfast was varied and substantial. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again.
“Not Impressed”
Cleanliness the worst. All the rest acceptable.
“They could surely improve the entrance”
I did not very much like their proximity to a sex toy shop and their entrance was as if one is going into a block of flats not a hotel. Their cleanliness though is very good and the maintenance is excellent.
“Good hotel, nice location”
Lovely hotel, nice people, large rooms, good breakfast, easy access to the sights of Prague on foot or by tram. Recommended. Everyone except one driver spoke English. Anyone who doesn't speak English speaks Russian or German, or both.
