So enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. Staff were friendly and attentive. Anniversary champagne in our room! Cafe/restaurant was such a lovely place to spend time and the menu was first rate. Good base to explore from too. First rate experience!

Véritablement Art Déco

Posted 23-Jun-2015

Full of character and great value

Posted 21-Jun-2015
Pros: The look and feel of the hotel. Friendly staff and good location
Cons: Well it was a bit hot in the cocktail bar but it seems like Prague likes the temperature high where ever you go
Location: Good location. The underground and tram lines are 5 mins away, the main station is 10/15 min walk away. Can walk to main square in 10 mins aswell.
I always try to find a hotel with a bit of character and this one has been the best so far. The building is full of character and Art Deco designs (obviously). The rooms are of a high standard (bathrooms are big), the staff were very friendly and helpful and the mini bar had a big selection (which is important to me haha) and didn't cost the earth. The location is very convenient and is close to the main square but far enough away to be peaceful. The breakfast cafe is one of the top 3 in town and the cocktail bar has a good selection of cocktails. The beer in Prague is great so you can't go wrong. In a nearby side street is a fantastic gourmet burger bar if you fancy some basic food, just down the road is the metro and the tram system as well so getting around town is easy (the main square is a 10 min walk and with a bit of research you can find some great places to eat). Getting a transfer to and from the airport is cheap and easy and if you want to get out of Prague itself you can visit many places via the train network (the bone church at Kutna Hora was interesting). The hotel is great value and I recommend it.

brilliant hotel in the city center.

Posted 16-Jun-2015
Pros: it was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. its very nicely decorated. the food in the cafe/restaurant is very good too!
Cons: the trams on the main road are quite noisy, if you are a light sleeper this could cause an issue. you could ask for a room away from the front.
Location: very short walk to the city centre, public transport links and shopping.
the hotel is very well presented just off one of the main squares in Prague, its well established and near links via the subway or trams. its 2 minutes walking to a supermarket and shopping mall. its very easy to find your way around. the staff couldn't be faulted they are polite, friendly & smartly dressed and always willing to help. there are plenty of maps and leaflets you can pick up and the concierge are always on hand. the restaurant is great for breakfasts so you are never going to struggle to find something to ear. there is wifi in the building which actually works and you can connect in your hotel room and not just the in the foyer.

Swanky and quiet hotel close to Náměstí Republiky

Posted 15-Jun-2015
Pros: See above.
Cons: Café Imperial staff could be a little less concerned about payment and wait until service is completed - to do otherwise is rude and interruptive.
Location: See above.
The Imperial hotel is very well appointed with nicely dressed rooms, including full marble and large tubs in the bathrooms, and plenty of warm woods. I had a room at the rear which was very quiet and a nice retreat from high tourist season. The bed was firm and comfortable, although like so many hotels I've little to say that's good about the pillows other than that there is a selection of them. The breakfast was a lovely buffet spread in a very grand, somewhat amazing room with a high, decoratively tiled ceiling and columns. This is the one place I felt the staff were less than accommodating since they pushed for payment during my meal, although this was a minor thing - they were attentive and promptly refilled coffee with a smile when asked etc. The hotel is higher priced among Prague hotels so you should expect a great stay with good service. The hotel is very well located a block's walk from Palladium shopping center which is rather modern, Na Prikope, and Namesky Republicky square inc. the town hall and Prasna Brana (Powder Tower). It was very easy and nice to walk into Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, the Jewish district, Prague Castle, and even New Town from the hotel. The hotel arranged a fine car service billed directly to my room at the normal taxi meter rate for my run to the airport. I highly recommend this hotel.

Art Deco hotel

Posted 12-Jun-2015
Location: Municipal House, Palladium shopping centre, Old Town Square
Beautiful art deco style hotel with very small lobby and very limited facilities, gym was not available as advertised. The hotel staff were excellent and attentive. The stair case and wall/floor tiles were all gorgeous. Breakfast was average but dinner was excellent and great value but very difficult to get table. Overall very pleased with what I paid for. The only major problem is the noise from the tram which runs right in front of hotel. It continue well into the night and start again very early in the morning. Otherwise, an excellent hotel, well located and close to all tourist sites & shopping. Just ask for a room not facing the front!

Beautiful Hotel

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Wonderful Art Deco hotel with most of the original art intact. Centrally located with a first class restaurant. And cheaper than Hilton a block away. Noisy if you face the street...due to trolleys

Is exactly what it says - very Art Deco!

Posted 02-Jun-2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable, central, has an interesting history.
Location: Central location, must-see sights all walkable, but buy a day ticket for tram and metro just to experience them.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It has a lovely old fashioned charm to it. The room on the second floor was comfortable and clean. The only downside with the street facing rooms is the noise and vibration of the trams trundling by but that's unavoidable for such a central location. The staff were very friendly. We complained about our air conditioning not working on the first night and again that evening when it was still the same. When we came back after our evening meal it was working and we had been giving a bottle of wine with a note saying 'Truly Sorry...'. It is easy to make unhappy customers happy again - just show you care so well done to the management. Breakfasts, served in the art deco restaurant, were good without being special, but in the evening it is open to outsiders and is in demand so we could only get a reservation for our last third and evening. The Config of Duck, which seems to be a Czech speciality, was lovely. Wifi was fast and at no extra cost. You can buy all day tram and metro tickets from the hotel concierge which is also very convenient. So, all in all, highly recommended.
