“Just okay”

Thin walls, very noisy. Front enterance is undergoing some sort of construction. Many rooms overlook a parking lot. $15/night for parking.

“Comfortable chain hotel”

Very little to say. Comfortable, clean and slightly soulless chain hotel in a convenient location. We have nothing negative to say about it.

Area recommendations
General Market St area is very nice. A nice place to wander around.

“Getaway for the weekend”

Everything is walking distacne that we cared about so we parked the car and didn't see it for the weekend. Stayed on the Club Floor, which I recommend. Rooms get more attention and they are spacious. Attentive staff. Great place to go.

“Great Hotel, Great Location”

We spent one night at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside for my sister's bachelorette party. The hotel is huge, staff is friendly, rooms are clean and comfy, surrounding area has tons of restaurants, shops and clubs. It was a great night and I would definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations
We spent Saturday night at The Gas Light. We started at The Deck to listen to live music and ended the night at the 3rd Floor dance club. We had a great time!

“Perfect choice in Portsmouth NH”

This hotel was perfect for a day of shopping in Portsmouth NH. We felt safe enough to walk around at night. Hotel had excellent customer service. We had an issue with the movie rentals being down and the staff gave us the move at NC. Nice touch...Laura

“Great location”

Though the room rates are pricey, the location is unbeatable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We parked the car and never got in it. Even on the checkout day they made an extra key card so we could leave the car in the lot but still be able to get out when we were ready to leave for home. We walked everywhere. Lots of great restaurants and shops in the downtown area.

Dining
I suggest making dinner reservations if you go during the summer as the restaurants get very busy.

“Great location.”

We went to Portsmouth for four days to celebrate our 35th anniversary. The room we were given was on the third floor, with a view across the street of a pile of scrap metel, higher than our window. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. Our king-sized bed, however, had such a bad slope that my husband kept sliding out onto the floor. Not the way we planned to spend an anniversary. When we complained to the front desk, they immediately moved us to a larger room and gave us free breakfast for the rest of our stay. Also, they gave us a large plate of strawberries, cream and a bottle of wine. We were spoiled and treated royally the rest of the stay. The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring the town, shopping and hundreds of resturants.

“Hard mattress!”

Those of you who need some cushioning beware! The mattress was hard as rock! I stayed here with spouse while I attended a conference at the hotel. Their conferences services are top notch, food and requisite snacking through-out the day unparalleled, but truly the bed was not comfy. I ended up trying to sleep on one of the long pillows---let's just say I didn't sleep well. The neighborhood however can't be beat. Downtown Portsmouth is a haven for shops and very fine restaurants and of course the Kittery outlets are just over the bridge and usually well worth the trip.

Area recommendations
downtown Portsmouth is fantastic as mentioned above for shops and restaurants and a lovely place to walk and/or run. Kittery Outlets are just across the bridge and have great, great store choices!
