“A Step Back in Time”
The Hotel was quite interesting. First of all Santa Margarita is beautiful and we could have stayed a couple more nights. The view from our room was spectacular. The Hotel is dated but it still is very classy. It is a step back in time to the days when this part of Italy was where the Rich and Famous came to stay. In its prime the Hotel must have been magnificent. We would stay there again but I bet the price will be way higher as soon as the renovation is done.
“Nice location”
Hotel is under construction and are adding a larger building. There is lots of noise during the day. My "garden view" room consisted of a window looking out on a courtyard, and construction site with fake green grass. Terrible view!! Expensive. The cafe facing the street is lovely, the restaurant has a huge and expensive breakfast. The staff was VERY nice and very helpful.
“Hasn't been renovated since 1956”
I travel very frequently, however I have never seen anything like this. We had a rotary phone in our room. Our television was incredibly small. The shower spilled water everywhere and it would not drain. The bed linen was from the 1960s. The slide at the pool was rusty. It cost 5 euro to play ping pong at the pool. They charge more than any other hotel I've been to for internet use. You must turn in your giant key at the front desk before leaving for the day. And so on. The furniture was from the 50's or 60's..and the pictures on the proper website for this hotel are original pictures taken during that time frame and do not accurately represent fifty years of wear and tear. Typically at these types of older hotels, if they are four star rated places, the front desk is very courteous and helpful. I found at least two of the front desk employees to be abrupt and unhelpful when I asked for very minimal requests such as my passport back (they kept it for two days) or a taxi, etc. I must mention that the maids at this hotel work very hard...several times I noticed the quality of the job that they do, however it is a lost cause, this place is a dump and is in bad need of a renovation. The hotel is in a good location, however so are many other, better, less expensive establishments.

“Buon Hotel”
Hotel vicino al porticciolo e a 250 mt dal centro, molto comodo il parcheggio, stanze ben curate (con la tariffa di Expedia, che era bassa, ci hanno dato addirittura la camera con accesso diretto in piscina e terrazzino)
