“highly recommend and hope to return some day!”
A true gem of the Italian Riviera! We ended up in Santa Margherita Ligure as it was more reasonably priced than Portofino. So glad we did, wonderful beach front and leisurely walking along the shops. We took the ferry (a short 15 minute ride) to Portofino which is quite lovely and should definitely be experienced. The room at Lido was very nice; roomy, clean and an amazing view of the beach and water. Excellent location.

Teh Grande Dame of Santa Margherita Hotels with beautiful views across the bay of Santa Margherita. The hotel was elegant and chic, and rooms comfortable and stylish. We just loved everything this hotel had to offer in the beautiful seaside town of Santa Margherita.

VERY friendly and charming front desk. The room was large-ish and comfortable. Not cheap, but good value for money. Stunning sea views from the room. The public beach out front is fine, but five minutes' walk south -- below the breakwater -- the swimming gets much much better. We have finally found "our" hotel in Santa Margherita and will definitely return.

L'albergo è proprio di fronte a una delle poche spiaggette di Santa Margherita, praticamente in centro, con vicino il parcheggio privato dell'hotel e la stazione ferroviaria (il treno è un mezzo ottimale per spostarsi in Liguria). L'hotel all'aspetto esterno mostra di avere una storia, in camera i mobili sono un po' datati. Accoglienza gentilissima, anche con consigli e raccomandazioni per le escursioni. Problemi, invece, per il collegamento internet: non era disponibile in stanza e l'addetto alla reception non è stato in grado di abilitare nemmeno l'apposita postazione disponibile in sala tv. Prima colazione a buffet con assortimento essenziale ma piuttosto completo.

Das Hotel Lido liegt mitten in S. Marguerita. Die Zimmer (oder besser: Suiten) sind orginell angeordnet - man hat zwei Treppen und drei unterschiedliche Niveaus pro Suite. Super-Seesicht! Leider liess sich die Heizung nicht regulieren.

Très bon hôtel. Rien à dire sur celui-ci.Hors saison (comme nous l'avons fait), pas de problème pour le stationnement. En revanche, en été, je ne pense pas que ce soit la même histoire. Le parking de l'hôtel est à une centaine de mètres. Pas forcément donné, non plus. Comme dans beaucoup d'hôtels, il y a deux lits simples juxtaposés et pas un grand lit double d'un seul tenant. C'est bien dommage. Très bon petit déjeuner classique mais sans surprise.
